Behringer Q1202USB overview

  • 1Description

The Behringer XENYX Q1202USB is a 12-input, 2-bus mixer that features four XENYX microphone preamps, "one-knob" mono compressors and 3-band EQs. The XENYX Q1202USB also features a built-in USB/audio interface. This mixer can handle a live gig as well as serve as your audio interface for recording.

The high-headroom XENYX mic preamps offer 130dB of dynamic range with a bandwidth that extends from 10Hz to 200kHz. The "one-knob" compressors come standard on all four mono channels. Additionally, the mono channels also have 3-band EQ with a low band at 80Hz, mid at 2.5kHz, high at 12kHz, as well as a low-cut filter.

The built-in stereo USB audio interface allows you to directly connect your Mac or PC. Any signal source connected to the mixer can be recorded straight to your hard drive. Additionally, with purchase, Behringer's website provides free downloads of Audacity, Podifier, Juice, Podnova and Golden Ear. All of this software collectively includes more than 100 virtual instruments and 50 FX plug-ins; turning your computer into a complete home-based or mobile recording studio.

    Behringer Q1202USB reviews

XENYX Q1202USB 12-Input, 2-Bus Mixer with USB Output is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! A great OS X Yosemite upgrade f Doing voiceovers, interviews, editing, phoners is our work. We had been working with an M audio mobile pre to take sound into our computer and to Adobe Audition. Then with our Mac OS X upgrade to Yosemite, discovered our systems wouldn't talk with each other. The problem could be solved by rebooting the pre. BUT with each restart of the computer, we had to unplug the mobil pre off the computer to make it reboot. Then after some research we discovered our solution in the Behringer with the built-in usb. Best of all, the price was great and B&H doe NOT charge for shipping. Works pretty much like our older model without the USB, except this is all shiny and clean and bright with a few changes on control board. New Behringer from B&H = Happy Campers!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Basic Mixer A lot of bang for the buck as far as features go. Sizing and spacing of knobs are good. It has a good solid feel to it. The added feature of a basic soft-knee compressor for each of the individual mic inputs was a welcome bonus, and seemed to be relatively transparent. There are a things that I don't like that knock off one star (almost 2). 1) No power button is a big annoyance having to plug and unplug the AC cord; what were they thinking? 2) The feet don't sit flat on any surface, so the board wobbles slightly. Huh? The feet are plastic with no padding, so it slides easily on a desk. Not good. I almost thought about sending it back, but decided to keep it because I think I can affix some pads on the bottom to address both issues. Another issue is the huge wall wart. Oh, and the manual is not worth unpacking. If I could I would give this 3 1/2 stars. The bottom line is that performance is fine, and that's what matters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great mixer for the price I bought this mixer for performing live in small venues with a few mics and an acoustic guitar. It sounds and works great, and I have also used it at home for some basic recording. My only complaints are similar to the other reviews - no off switch, so it's on if plugged in and it tends to get warm. My second complaint is that the actual power jack on the mixer is a bit fussy with the cord, so it's best to have it secured in place where it won't be moved during a performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy and compact This was purchased as a way to get multiple mics into a Zoom H5. Works fantastically. This now sees common use when we do Podcasts and voice-over recordings. The EQ functions, while limited in frequencies (at this price its to be expected) work excellently to balance out voices and save time in post. There is very very little noise from the preamps, in fact unless you were to buy studio level gear and compare it, you would be hard pressed to actually hear any at all. Have yet to use the USB functionality of the mixer, but for a very small price difference between this and the non USB version, it was nice to have it if I need it. My big complaints (which is the problem with most mixers in this range) Not enough XLR inputs. 12 channels is wonderful, but only 4 XLR? Come on Behringer. And the fact that channel levels are knobs and not faders as the Main level is. No power switch. Unit is on if it is plugged in to the wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, it's a great board I do a lot of video production and podcasting.I got the XENYX Q1202USB for 3 reasons. Multiple inputs, USB out, and the ability to mix the voices - removing some high end and adding the low.So far so good. In truth, I haven't even used the USB out, as I run it straight into my Zoom H4N with a couple of guitar pedal patch cables.I'm very happy with the setup. And I'm super happy that B&H had it in stock for the same prize as @, including FREE 2Day shipping. Arrived quickly and intact. What more can you ask for? Thx B&H. I now check out your website before I just absent mindedly buy from 'the other guys'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but Works like a Big Boy. The Behringer Q1202 is a great addition to my overall eguipment needs. It is small but large enough to see and work all controls. Plenty of options for my needs. But, Why didn't they add an off and on switch. I solved the switch problem by install a switch out of an outlet. Works fine but an internal switch would be simpler. One man operator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Features at a Great Price I was looking for a mixer that would allow for at least two microphones so I could have some flexibility in the type of recording I could do, and this mixer did the trick. I was using the Behringer 302USB mixer prior to this one, which was a really good mixer. The Q1202USB is more complicated than the 302USB, so setting up this one took a longer than expected. Frankly, I found the Q1202USB to be a little too complicated for home recording, but I figured out the essentials soon enough. The mixer is small enough for people who want to take their recording setup to various places. The fact that it supports up to four microphones is really nice, especially at this price. I could see this being my mixer of choice for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pre amps I initially got the product to control the volume of my Kontact VI. We had a live show in San Juan, P.R. and this had to be done at board. After I got some good cords, the mix comes out clean and I can control my own Volume. Dr.Jazz
