This lens hood is solid and works extremely well. My only complaint is that you really have to take it off to adjust a CPL filter. It's simply too deep to reach in and turn a polarizer effectively. Other than that the last one I had did a great job of protecting my 80-400 lens when my camera bit the dust and landed on solid rock.

I ordered a wrong lens hood for my Nikon 80-400mm lens. I called B&H, they gave me a return number. I ordered the correct hood. Credit for my return was timely. The new hood arrived quickly. This is why I choose B&H for photography. Oh, the new hood fits fine and like all Nikon products - works perfectly.

This lens hood is specifically designed for the AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm and works well to reduce flare without obstructing the viewfinder. Authentic Nikon products are typically overpriced. This is way, way overpriced. You might be better off looking for a non-Nikon brand as a replacement alternative.
