Dynalite XP-800 overview

  • 1Description

The Dynalite XP800 Pure Sine Wave Inverter allows you to take your studio strobes on the road or off the road without electricity and without noisy generators or bulky old-style inverters. The XP800 weighs 15 lb including its battery and is able to deliver hundreds of full power flashes and thousands of partial power flashes depending on the pack or head. The lithium-ion battery, which charges in 3.0 hours, separates from the power pack via large flip-locks so that you can swap out an optional spare. There are 3 USB ports available to power USB computers and other electronics.

    Dynalite XP-800 reviews

XP800 Pure Sine Wave Inverter is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wave of the future! The XP800 is a very well designed and built asset to my location lighting needs, for both strobe and continuous sources. I use it with my Dynalite packs, but it can work with any studio AC power pack. It also has the ability to be used as a portable generator for continuous power to run just about anything. I can safely use it when the power goes out at home (happens often in West Virginia) as well as for camping or for powering out of my vehicle. It's the wave of the future because we'll all be using batteries like this or similar for auto and home use (or should be). It's relatively light weight (14lbs). And the price is reasonable too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from XP800 Rocks!!!!!! I was able to test out the new Dynalite Inc. XP-800 Pure Sine Wave Inverter which allowed my to use my studio 1000er power pack on location. Nothing like having your studio on location with you. The results were great. I am super stoked that I bought it and can't wait to use it again. I highly recommended it if you shoot on location.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! The XP800 is significantly lighter and more versatile than the previous version of this unit (the XP1100). I especially love the carrying bag that allows my assistant to easily move the light and follow me around when working on location.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing Rocks I had the XP-1100 and all I can say is this thing is far superior! My XP-1100 I could get between 150-200 shots before it would start going dead. The XP-800 just keeps going, going and going. If you do a lot of location shooting do yourself a huge favor and get this portable battery pack. One of the best purchases I've made in a while.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from XP 800 I have only used this twice so far and realized the second time that two of the rubber feet were already missing. The second time the pack blew all 3 fuses while only using one head at 500ws. This could be a pack issue but why all three fuses? I would assume that each fuse would be specific to each outlet. I am concerned about the reliability of this product. The charging input is goofy and the rubber caps do not stay in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from COOL BUT PACK A SPARE good for laptop on extended location, small lights, LED panels. Runtime is short so get a spare. I got about 1 hour on a 150W LED light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very reliable and made location shooting a breeze I bought the XP800 Pure Sine Wave Inverter last semester for a location lighting class I was taking. It was much easier to take this along to power my lighting equipment rather than rely on finding outlets at the location itself. I used this battery in all kinds of conditions including in 20 degree weather and it still worked. I expected to have a lot more problems with this in bad weather but it worked perfectly every time. The charge of course doesn't last as long in the really cold temperatures but that is to be expected with any battery. I was out shooting with this for 1-3 hour shoots most of the time and didn't have to recharge. This has been one of the best equipment purchases I have made. It makes my shoots much easier and it's so light weight even I can carry it and I have a bad back. I used it with my Dynalite strobes and power pack but it would take other types of lights as well. The multiple outlets are fantastic when you have a larger setup. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a way to power their lighting setup where outlets are readily available.
