Canon WUX5000 overview

  • 1Description

Designed for large venues, the Canon REALiS WUX5000 LCOS Projector with RS-IL01ST Lens Kit is equally qualified for corporate or educational settings, in addition to museums, galleries, photography studios, and houses of worship. This imaging powerhouse outputs native WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution enhanced by Canon's AISYS LCOS technology and interchangeable Canon lenses for exceptional on-screen imaging. The WUX5000 pairs 5,000 lumens of brightness with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 for high resolution photo and video displays. Of equal importance, this projector is easy to install and maintain. Additionally, it has a powered horizontal/vertical lens shift for added flexibility.

Versatile connectivity is rounded out by an HDMI 1.3 terminal that supports uncompressed 1080p video, and an RJ45 network port which allows for remote network operation. A zoom lens is included, and three additional interchangeable lenses are available (sold separately).

Native Widescreen WUXGA (1920 x 1200) Resolution
Bring true widescreen video to your large-room installation. In comparison to XGA projectors, this higher resolution offers a larger display area, delivering precise projection of images. This projector allows you to view true widescreen 1080p content without compression; so it will appear just as it does on your computer monitor
LCOS Technology
LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) has taken projectors to a whole new level. This technology means higher resolution images, seamless images with no flickering or "screen door" effect, quick image response for better looking moving images, smooth rendition of fine lines, seamless photo reproduction, sharp display of small text, and crisp blacks
AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) Optical Engine
Canon takes the capability of LCOS technology to the next level by combining it with our proprietary and enhanced 4th generation AISYS Optical Engine. Covered by a Canon patent, this optical light engine achieves brightness and high contrast. AISYS has three components: the illumination system; the color separation and combination system; and the LCOS panels. Only Canon's innovative, breakthrough AISYS technology achieves the right balance of contrast, brightness and compact size to maximize the performance of LCOS
Easy-to-Use Calibration Tool
A built-in easy-to-use calibration tool allows you to configure the projector to match the brightness of the environment in which the image is being displayed. With 21 steps of preset gamma adjustments, the new REALiS WUX5000 gives you greater flexibility when calibrating the projector in the variable lighting conditions of your conference or classroom setting
Exceptional Imaging
The REALiS WUX5000 outputs an impressive 5000 lumens for high quality imaging and brightness. With a contrast ratio of 1000:1, it also is capable of producing deep blacks and bright whites. Pure, high-contrast color reproduction creates images with crisp depth and dimensions, ideally suited for conveying texture and materials. Color remains crisp, with superior color balance, perfect for presenting high-quality visuals
Zoom Lens Included
The included lens (RS-IL01ST) provides 1.5x optical zoom (powered). Also available are three optional interchangeable lenses: a long focus zoom lens (RS-IL02LZ), an ultra wide angle lens (RS-IL03WF) and an ultra long focus zoom lens (RS-IL04UL). Each of these lenses exhibits extremely low brightness loss. The lenses contain specially designed aspherical elements to minimize their total length, and all four lenses are similar in size and fit in the same space on the projector. For temporary installations, the projector can even be shipped in the same box with the lens already assembled
Motorized Lens Shift
The lens shift capability of all three lenses offers flexibility within your application. This allows for optimal placement, and lens shift won't degrade the image the way digital keystone correction can. This results in uncompromised imaging
Easy to Install & Maintain
Of supreme importance, this projector is a breeze to install and keep running smoothly. First, it's compact and lightweight (18.7 pounds) so that it can fit into a variety of installations. The design and location of the consumable parts enhances both flexibility in mounting and ease of maintenance. The lamp and filter can be replaced from the back or side, and the PS optical filter element can be replaced through the top of the unit
Advanced Color Management System
Like all REALiS Projectors, the REALiS WUX5000 includes Canon's high-accuracy Color Management System which ensures accurate color reproduction for an extended color space and compensates for color variances due to lighting differences. Precise control prevents the excess leakage of light, producing rich, detailed gradations even in the shadowed portions of images - recreating depth and dimension with stunning drama and realism. The REALiS WUX5000 features a color processing algorithm, along with a highly accurate 3D LUT (Look Up Table). Conventional systems shift neighboring colors along with the selected color, often resulting in an imbalance in the image. The WUX5000 allows for the correction of a single color without affecting the others
6-Axis Color Adjustment
An easy-to-use GUI (graphical user interface) allows for fine tuning of your images. Adjust the hue, saturation and brightness of each of the primary or secondary colors
Full 10-bit Color
This projector is able to process RGB and component signals, from input to display, in 10-bit resolution for high-quality images no matter what the source
HDMI Terminal
The REALiS WUX5000 is equipped with an HDMI terminal (version 1.3 deep color), supporting full HD 1080p signals provided by HDTV capable satellite and cable boxes, as well as Blu-ray players. Connect an HD capable satellite and cable box, digital camcorder or Blu-ray player to the HDMI terminal for instant display of high-definition video. With single-link bandwidth to 340 MHz (10.2 gbps) it is ready to support the demands of future HD display devices as well
Network-Ready RJ-45 Port
The REALiS WUX5000 features a built-in network interface (RJ-45), enabling centralized control and monitoring of multiple projector units from a networked PC. This makes it simple for an A/V team to operate ceiling mounted or remotely installed projectors from a PC screen, allowing fewer personnel to cover a larger service area. The REALiS WUX5000 can also be locally operated through its RS-232 port. The REALiS WUX5000 is compatible with industry-standard AMX, Crestron, and Extron controllers, making it possible to construct a sophisticated AV system. In addition, email alerts can be sent to the central PC to give notification of any malfunctions or service issues which may arise in a projector
User-Friendly Menu System
Once your projector is connected and ready to go, you shouldn't have any hassles in operation. Guidance Functions display operating instructions in an on-screen window. A GUI makes for easy operation, with five menus for quick access to display settings, image adjustments system settings, network settings and information. A front and rear IR sensor make it easy to control the projector from either in front or behind
User Memory
You can set up 10 different settings based on the content material. There are five user memory settings for PC sources like DVI-D, analog PC, and HDMI, and an additional five settings for video sources like component and HDMI
Selectable Image Modes
To optimize the image quality of your projected content, the REALiS WUX5000 offers the choice of up to eight Image Modes, selectable dependant on the type of input signal either from a PC or component video source
Selectable Aspect Ratios
Choose either the native 16:10, 16:9 or 4:3 to match the content format of whatever you're displaying on-screen
When you're finished using the projector, don't worry about its safety. You'll be able to use the pin code lock and function key lock to control its use
