A general-purpose contrast filter for black and white photography, the 60mm Yellow MRC 022M Filter from B+W helps to increase contrast when working outdoors by suppressing blue and other cool tones. The medium yellow of the color results in a darkening of blues and greens, while lightening yellows, reds, and other warm tones, in order to produce a more naturally appearing outdoor scene. This results in increased cloud definition and reduced atmospheric haze for improved clarity.
This filter features a Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC), which helps to lessen surface reflections and ghosting for maintained contrast, and the coating also resists scratching, dirt, and water for physical protection. Schott glass is also used to maintain imaging integrity and optical clarity, and it features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.
Standard yellow filter provides the same effect as a Wratten 8 contrast filter, and helps to darken blue and green tones, while lightening warm yellow and red tones, when photographing in black and white.
Helps to produce natural-looking clouds and works to clear distant light haze for a more accurate portrayal.
Filter factor of two requires one additional stop of exposure to maintain normal results.
Multi-Resistant Coating helps prevent ghosting and surface reflections and is also scratch--resistant as well as water and dirt repellent to physically protect the filter substrate.
Constructed from Schott glass for optical clarity.
F-Pro brass filter ring helps to prevent jamming and provides additional strength.
Plastic case included for storage and transport.
