Tascam DR-60D Overview

The Tascam DR-60D with Rode NTG-2 Shotgun Mic and Boompole Kit from B&H includes the Tascam DR-60D 4-channel linear PCM recorder, the Rode NTG-2 shotgun microphone, the Polsen adjustable Boompole, an 8 GB SDHC card, a shotgun mic shockmount for camera shoes and boompoles, a 20' XLR cable, a stereo cable, a fuzzy windbuster, and 8 AA batteries.

The Tascam DR-60D can record up to four channels of audio at the same time in up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. It can record to the included 8 GB SDHC card and includes a USB cable for transferring your audio tracks to your Windows or Mac computer. It is powered by 4 of the included AA batteries.

The Rode NTG-2 Shotgun Microphone is a supercardioid condenser mic that can be powered by one AA battery or phantom power from the DR-60D. The included shockmount allows the NTG-2 to be mounted on your camera or at the end of the included Polsen Boompole, which is adjustable between 2.5' and 10.5'. The fuzzy windbuster helps reduce wind noise picked up by the NTG-2.

Is there a comparable unit to this but with condenser mic already fitted. Settings levels and recording each mic separately is a great asset but would be even better still if it had the 2 XY / AB mic setup as well?

question

can the DR-60D be hooked up to a camcorder?
Asked by: Stephen S.
The Tascam DR60D features a 1/8 stereo camera output jack and is designed for use with DSLR cameras. Many camcorders will have the same 1/8 connection, and will be compatible as well. A cable for connection is not included. We recommend the following cable. http://bhpho.to/1BgOPX8

question

If you want to use 2 mics (shotgun and Lav mic) will they record to one SD card or two cards one for each mic?
Asked by: Anonymous
They will both record onto one SD card. You have multiple options of how you want to simultaneously record as well. Stereo with one on each, both mixed together in mono, or in a multitrack session with each track its own independent file.
