HoldFast Gear Money Maker Overview

This medium MoneyMaker 2-Camera Harness from HoldFast Gear is made from tan English bridle leather and features silver hardware. The harness allows you to comfortably hold two cameras at your hips with the straps forming an X pattern across your back for added support. The speed clutch mechanism allows your camera to easily slide along the harness to your eye level when you're ready to shoot.

To secure your gear to the harness, screw the two camera accessory clips into the 1/4-20" tripod threads of each camera or lens. There are two metal D-rings on the front and the back of each strap, so you can attach optional camera straps and accessories, such as an HF luggage tag wallet or extra camera leashes. Attaching an optional camera leash to the front D-rings allows you to comfortably secure a third camera to the harness.

The medium size MoneyMaker is for people between 5'8" and 6'2" in height. The harness is made in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Designed to hold a camera on the left and right side of your body at hip level.
Speed Clutch mechanism allows you to slide each camera smoothly from your side, up to eye level to shoot.
Includes two Camera Holdfast Accessory Clips that screw into the 1/4-20" tripod threads of your cameras.
Four metal D-rings permit you to attach accessories.
English Bridle leather is made in a process where only the best grades of leather are stuffed with grease and finished with wax. One side has a smooth, flesh texture and the other has a grainy texture.

HoldFast Gear Money Maker Reviews

Works for all photographers

I'll cut to the chase. I love this harness and I am not a wedding photographer. I shoot lots of rodeo and outdoor equine events. My setup is a D800 with Battery grip and a 24mm and a D850 with battery grip and a Sigma 135mm or 70-200mm. Not a lightweight setup. I don't like carrying a camera bag and I need to move fast along with being past 60 with a bad back. I tried other setups and had cameras flying and a sore neck. This rig works great provided you take the time to set it up. Watch the videos and do it right. It fits perfectly I can carry it for hours without back or neck pain and my cameras are always within reach. The leather, hardware, and workmanship are all top-notch, I'm a horse tack snob and this passes my test, it will last a lifetime. I made a few non-permanent changes so I could use peak design fasteners. The hardware included is bombproof and along with the included safety straps ends any worry of dropping a camera. I have no regrets and I'm sorry I waited so long to buy it, oh and it looks great too.

A little confusing to use at first, but well worth it

Not gonna lie, this was tough for me to figure out how to use. Thankfully, Youtube exists. I have used this guy for two weddings so far and it has made my experience so much better. You get to feel like Rambo, receiving tons of compliments on the premium leather, all while being more efficient in your job! The people love to see it.

I don't always carry two cameras but when I do nothing is more comfortable.

Great looks, quality all the way, some sizing issues

Saw a photog wearing this at a tennis tournament this spring and was so impressed by its looks and obvious heavy duty quality I had to try it. Upon receiving my own, not disappointed. Its equally appropriate at a muddy motocross event or a society wedding. My only quibble would be with the sizing. The manufacturer says the medium will fit any one up to 6'2 I am only about 5'10, but found the straps at their fully extended position still rubbed uncomfortably close to my underarms. The cameras do hang at about hip height, but another 2-4 of extension would have been more comfortable without lowering the cameras too much. My recommendation for anyone 5'10 or over: consider the large instead. At least you can cinch up the straps if it they start out too long at their maximum lengths.

Easy to attach the cameras. Ease of use when raising the camera to take pictures. This was an excellent purchase.

Useful, but could be improved.

Used it for the first time at a full wedding day with two cameras. One of the D-Rings popped right off when I pulled it gently (rivets are weak). The leash clips to keep a camera from swinging when not in use are just an afterthought to the design and are essentially useless. The clips are difficult to manipulate and very stiff and you risk dropping your camera unless you're sitting down to connect. Looks way-cool though!

If only every product was this good!

I'm an Australian wedding photographer. The Money Maker is absolutely perfect. The workmanship is flawless. The function is bang on. I sling 2 Nikon Z6's for 12+ hours at a time shooting weddings and come away feeling a million bucks. There is absolutely no reason NOT to buy one of these. If you're a working professional photographer and worried about the price, don't be. Buy it and know that it will flawlessly do the job it's meant to, probably for longer than we will!

How well does the HoldFast Gear Money Maker "Two" Camera Harness do when holding only one camera? Does this harness require always carrying both cameras for proper balance or can you also use it comfortably with only one camera attached?
Asked by: Keith
The Holdfast double harness manufacturer says it will work with one camera as well as two. The weight of the single camera is a factor.

What is the difference between the $179 vs $230?
Asked by: Jacky
I feel like the other person is correct with the hardware answer, and I do not remember when I purchased mine but I paid extra for the leather and it was the best thing I ever did. My assistant has the set that isn’t leather and it’s not half as sturdy as the leather. If that’s any help.

What is included in the order package? does it comes with D rings?
Asked by: Anonymous
Mine came with the D rings on them, I am actually going to contact the company when I am done with my wedding season to see if I can have them remove them since I don't need them. I hope that helps.

How easy is it to photograph if i were to use the Holdfast with my Canon 70-200 mounted to the Tripod collar ( assuming its a heavy lens and i dont want to stress the mount ) ?? A greater portion of the camera should jut out behind the strap once its mounted onto the tripod collar and i was hence wondering if it would protrude much more against my chest and prove difficult while holding against the viewfinder.
Asked by: Anonymous
I use a Nikon 70-200 mounted on the tripod collar, and find it is always easiest to keep it on my right side. I also have the strap length adjusted on my right shoulder to be one notch looser than the left side so that I can comfortably shoot horizontal and vertical photos. Another option would be to purchase the longer length portrait slider, but I haven't found the need to do that yet. Good luck!
