Atomos S2H overview

  • 1Description

The Atomos Connect S2H Converter with 2600mAh Battery converts an SDI input to an HDMI output and SDI loop output in resolutions up to 1080i60/50.

Connect S2H is battery-powered -- it features an internal one-hour battery and comes with a 10-hour external NP-series battery. It also supports higher capacity 7.4V NP-series batteries for up to 32 hours of power. Multiple Connect S2H and Connect H2S units can be vertically stacked together and powered by one battery attached to the topmost unit. Connects are designed for a perfect fit with Atomos Recorders but can fit any device that has a NP-series battery plate. An AC power supply is included for charging the internal battery and can charge up to three Connect units simultaneously.

In addition to conversions, Connect S2H also performs 3:2 / 2:2 pulldown removal and includes a test pattern generator and audio test tone.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I needed this for my Blackmagic Cinema Camera. I already had a SmallHD DP4. The S2H provides a great image with zero lag. Great design; internal battery AND included 10 hour battery, with chargers for both! My only complaint is that there's no easy way to mount it. I ended up gaf-taping it to my rig. A simple standard 1/4 20 mounting thread would be perfect. A nice perk is the flashlight feature. All four LEDS light white. I'm sure this will come in handy! I recommend a 1' SDI cable and a 3' flexible hdmi cable. That way you can mount the S2H near the camera, and keep the monitor flexible and light.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Perfectly We were running the C100 into the H2S, which converts HDMI into HDMI, into the Samuria Blade, SDI input, and then passing through into the S2H, which converts the SDI back into HDMI, into a Nyrius HDMI transmitter which was feeding a wireless 7 Monitor. The system worked just like it should. You just have to make sure your settings are correct by playing with the buttons on the top. We powered this system with the 7400mah NPF-970 batteries. It also has its own internal battery which will actually power both it and the Atomos systems.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly Versatile I bought this unit to go with my Atomos Ninja 2 HDMI unit. � I wanted to use my Canon XLH1s SDI output to get 10 bit colour for keying projects. �The unit works perfectly, �Simple to use, great quality and uses standard readily available Sony batteries or mains adaptor. What made the unit even better was that the Firewire port on my Canon broke and I wanted to transfer some old DV tapes to disk. �I put the camera into VCR mode and was surprised that the signal passed via SDI and transferred into my Atomos S2H via HDMI flawlessly. �I even output the Audio too in perfect sync into the Ninja 2. � Atomos are amazing, these two units \are fantastic. � Saved my much loved Camera and I can still transfer old tapes direct to hard disk on the Ninja. �Thank you.
