    NewerTech MAXPower reviews

MAXPower eSATA 6G RAID PCIe 2.0 Controller Card is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Good for Mac's Either One reviewer commented that, although this card wasn't compatible with his Windows OS, perhaps it may be compatible with Mac OS. Nothing could be further from the truth. These cards have been problematic from the first day of installation in 2014 but are now entirely non-functional with a recent upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.3. Another Newer Technology vendor listed updated drivers, for this card, for 10.11.3. WRONG! We have never experienced shut-downs and restart with any of our Mac Pros until installing those NWT drivers. We had to uninstall the NWT drivers to stop the frequent, unexpected restarts after installing these drivers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product This did exactly what I needed it to. I have a Thermaltake Duet BlacX eSATA dock that takes two internal HDDs. WIth out this card, the computer can only see one of the drives at a time. The port multiplier function allows for multiple esata devices to go through one PCIe slot. The 4 eSata ports is a great feature, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely happy! MAXPower eSATA 6G PCI I am a photographer and videographer running a MACPRO Quad-Core Intel tower (2009) with 3 external NewerTechnology Voyager Q docks. I bought this card so I could switch from FW800 to eSATA transfer speeds. My video files are huge as are my still image files. Blackmagic Disc Speed Test proves the speed increase from 70MB/s to 125MB/s for my SSD drive! I am not utilizing the card as a RAID system, but rather as a controller for the external drives (SSD and HardDisks) and I am very happy! The RAID software is supposed to be very easy to use and the hardware install is super easy too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Win10 drivers No Driver disk. Went to web site and downloaded win drivers. Vista and win7. Tried on win7 system but could not load driver. It's now worthless to me. Maybe good for MAC. Old hardware.
