The Sirui G-20X Ball Head is an extremely sturdy head with separate control knobs for pan, tilt, and tension, plus an Arca-style clamp for the included quick-release plate. The ball locks down extremely tightly thanks to the double-bevel locking system which allows support of cameras up to 44 lb and safe 90° tilting for portrait orientation. The quick-release clamp features a secondary release button that prevents any inadvertent disengagement of the camera/plate from the clamp, thereby adding to the head's overall security and stability.

Three separate controls (pan, tilt and lock) allow a photographer to exercise extremely fine control over the orientation of the camera, whether it's a DSLR, 35mm, medium-format camera, or even a camcorder. Pan, for instance, can be adjusted while the tilt stays locked, enabling precise movement that's measurable via degree markers for panoramic photography at the panning base.

The G-20X uses Computer Aided Manufacturing and an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy with a custom anodized surface treatment to ensure a durable, high-quality finish.

Precision Manufacturing

Sirui uses Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to produce a support ball with tolerances within 0.01 mm of a perfect sphere. This uncompromising precision ensures superior performance and smooth operation for any type of 35 mm DLSR or medium format camera system

Superior Construction Material

Sirui ball heads are made of aviation quality aluminum alloy 7075-T6 and 6067-T6 for long life and maximum strength. Quick release plates are made from forged aluminum alloy. The forging technique produces high-density metals with much greater strength than die-cast methods. Optional model specific plates are available

Control

The panning base is designed with a 360° dial. Having a separate panning base lock knob provides greater accuracy for panning and panoramic shooting

Secure Locking

The patented safety lock design, and Sirui quick release plates, effectively prevent the camera from accidentally sliding off of the ball head. Most Arca-style quick release plates can be used on Sirui ball heads

Durable Surface

The custom anodized surface treatment makes all metal surfaces highly resistant to abrasions and produces a beautiful appearance

High Load Capacity

Superior locking force allows support of loads up to 44 lb

Easy Leveling

Dual bubble levels allow precise horizontal leveling for critical shooting situations

Sirui G20X Reviews

Smooth Action

I use the G-20X with a Nikon Z 50 and both a Nikkor 70-300 zoom and the Nikkor 500mm f/8 reflex. In total, not a lot of weight. This ball head has silky smooth action and plenty of heft for the load that I am placing on it. I set the friction at about 1/3 scale. Clearly the G-20X could easily support a heavier rig with ease.

Excellent Product

I bought this to pair up with the Induro GHBA gimbal head for use with my D7500/ Nikon 200-500 combo. I had an Oben BE-117T ball head rated at 17lbs and wanted something with a little more weight capacity. I have really come to love Sirui products and this is no exception. This ball head is rated for 44lbs and is actually 2oz lighter in weight than my Oben head. The panning feature on the G-20 is very smooth, but does not just spin around out of control. I like it a lot. It's a bit more smooth than the Oben- but not by much. The Sirui has absolutely no problems handling my 7500/ 200-500 combo. One feature that I really like about the Sirui is the Arca plate release button. You just loosen the head mount slightly, push the button, and your camera/ lens slides right out. its saves a couple extra seconds if you need to remove the camera from the head quickly. the friction knob also is a nice feature.

Very goo but needs a true quick release

Excellent ball head stable and secure but what the Sirui calls quick release is not a true quick release. You have to push a button and turn a knob to release the camera. That's not quick ...

Nice product for a reasonable price

It was a deal at $89, but I think still a great buy considering the alternatives which can be much pricier, but not necessarily better. This holds my Sony A7iii firmly with a tele lens, and the adjustments are smooth as glass. Great construction overall.

Smooth and steady.

Excellent Ball Head at a Great Price

I had a Sirui K-10X and really loved it. I took that one to places like Big Sur and Point Lobos and it worked extremely well out there. But I bought this Sirui G-20KX for improved ergonomics out in the field. This one has a dial to set the tension on the ball, and it has knurled dials in lieu of rubber-coated ones. It is a big improvement over my old Sirui, which was excellent in its own right. Tension knob is a long throw, or 270 degrees, just 3/4 of a turn of the knob from loose to very tight. Built like a tank of high-tech metals, a rock solid camera mount, and quite small and light for travel---which is why I love it. Even a D850 with the very heavy Zeiss Milvus 85mm is rock solid in this mount. I will take it to Big Sur and Point Lobos this year with confidence.

question

what tripod type does it fit?
Asked by: Anonymous
This head features an industry standard 3/8 -16 sized tripod mounting threading, and as such can be used with any tripod which has this size male post (which is the vast majority of tripods). For tripods using a smaller 1/4 -20 threading there are adapters available making it compatible with just about any tripod.
