The Sirui G-10X Ball Head is an extremely sturdy head with separate control knobs for pan, tilt, and tension, plus an Arca-style clamp for the included quick-release plate. The ball locks down extremely tightly thanks to the double-bevel locking system which allows support of cameras up to 39.6 lb and safe 90° tilting for portrait orientation. The quick-release clamp features a secondary release button that prevents any inadvertent disengagement of the camera/plate from the clamp, thereby adding to the head's overall security and stability.

Three separate controls (pan, tilt and lock) allow a photographer to exercise extremely fine control over the orientation of the camera, whether it's a DSLR, 35mm, medium-format camera, or even a camcorder. Pan, for instance, can be adjusted while the tilt stays locked, enabling precise movement that's measurable via degree markers for panoramic photography at the panning base.

The G-10X uses Computer Aided Manufacturing and an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy with a custom anodized surface treatment to ensure a durable, high-quality finish.

Precision Manufacturing

Sirui uses Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to produce a support ball with tolerances within 0.01 mm of a perfect sphere. This uncompromising precision ensures superior performance and smooth operation for any type of 35 mm DLSR or medium format camera system

Superior Construction Material

Sirui ball heads are made of aviation quality aluminum alloy 7075-T6 and 6067-T6 for long life and maximum strength. Quick release plates are made from forged aluminum alloy. The forging technique produces high-density metals with much greater strength than die-cast methods. Optional model specific plates are available

Control

The panning base is designed with a 360° dial. Having a separate panning base lock knob provides greater accuracy for panning and panoramic shooting

Secure Locking

The patented safety lock design, and Sirui quick release plates, effectively prevent the camera from accidentally sliding off of the ball head. Most Arca-style quick release plates can be used on Sirui ball heads

Durable Surface

The custom anodized surface treatment makes all metal surfaces highly resistant to abrasions and produces a beautiful appearance

High Load Capacity

Superior locking force allows support of loads up to 39.6 lb

Easy Leveling

Dual bubble levels allow precise horizontal leveling for critical shooting situations

Sirui G10X Reviews

I think...

Sirui made a mistake stating this supports 39.6 lbs. This ballhead is almost identical to their E-10 ballhead, size, weight, ball diameter, etc., and they rate the E-10 at 17.6 lb. capacity. The only difference I can tell between the E and G is the E doesn't have a friction control knob. So, hopefully Sirui will fix this so that folks are not enticed by this ballheads diminutive size and weight relative to it's weight capacity. There is no way you are going to be able to lockdown almost 40 lbs. of kit at a 45 degree angle with this ballhead. Sirui makes really nice stuff but it is disappointing to see the thoroughly overrated capacity on this unit. If you buy, consider this a 17.6 lb capacity ballhead, not a 39.6 lb capacity ballhead.

I bought it to upgrade my Sirui T-025 tripod that I use when I travel. Light, small, sturdy and can hold my Nikon D7100 + Sigma 18-35 + 100mm filters in any angle. I am impressed with the product and satisfied with the purchase. Highly recommend for use-cases and setups similar to mine.

Reasonably build given the price

This head is light and easy to use. The build and materials are reasonable given the price. Can hold up to a camera with 70-200 f4 lense but probably not beyond that. I'd give it 3.5.

I am using the peak design travel tripod but needed a more versatile head for astrophotography and landscape panoramas. I really like this head. The knobs are easy to understand, though, like all thing, it will take some practice to remember what does what. Within my first hour I found myself easily adjust or readjusting. There is a “tension” know that allows for just the *tiniest* of micro adjustments to your shot which is very well appreciated by me. The bead I’ve seen is nice and sturdy, I’ve learned to trust it with my bigger lens. Overall, I really like the quality and build of this tripod head, very sturdy and easy to use. So I would highly recommend it. It has a bubble level, measuring for panoramas, and quick release button. I’m satisfied with my purchase.

Great little ball head.

Bought this one to use on my small tripod. It joins my G-20x. Both are well built and handle anything but the heaviest of equipment. Nothing to complain about with these two.

Great head.

Easy to adjust and holds in place

quick release plate cannot hold my camera upright

This ball head is nicely made. But when I tried to adjust the camera on portrait position, the quick release plate cannot fix the camera in position. No matter how tight I turned the knob, my camera kept rotating down. Maybe I did something wrong?

question

I have a Manfrotto 294C4 monopod. Would you recommend the Sirui G-10X Ball Head for the monopod? Does it fit well?
Asked by: Anonymous
That ball head will fit fine on that monopod. It is very subjective to use a head on a monopod. Many just use a quick release and not a head when using a large/long lens. Some prefer for video to use a video head (pan/tilt). Either way that head is very strong and can support a lot of weight.
