    Plantronics 655 DSP reviews

.Audio 655 DSP Headset for Mac and PC is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 73.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst built quality but awesome sound quality I'm a fan of plantronics sound quality but I'm really disappointed by the built quality of the Plantronics 655 DSP. I had to bandage the headphone multiple times using electrical tape so as to hold it together. Please note: The wear and tear is not because of heavy usage. I noticed white marks soon after a week of my purchase. I contacted Plantronics and were not ready to listen to what I was saying. I'm really disappointed and I will post a review with pictures on my blog bleepingtech. I will never purchase your products unless someone assures me of the built quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Built Quality of the inner plastic adjuster The sound quality and everything else is awesome but the quality of the inner plastic strap or adjuster is too poor. It started showing all white marks / worn out marks after 2 - 3 weeks. I only use it for chatting and its always home. Every after complaining about it, plantronics provided no help. If you can help me please let me know.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great sound, however Bought this on November 30th prior to starting a new project management position january 6th 2014.  January 28th i put it on as usual for a daily conference call  when I we.t to place over my head the adjustment extensions for sizing on the left side snapped completly in half and was hanging by a small cable for the Mic boom and left ear speaker.  I called and explained and was sent a link to Request a warranty replacement.  ill update again if and when they reply to my replacement request.  this piece is very thin about the thickness of an Emory boawrd (finger naile )  now with electric tape to try and hold it it sits lopsided on my head as it no longer adjusts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great set for the price I thought this set was actually great for the price. I have had many different ones at different pricepoints and this one seem the best for your money. No it is not your HIGH end set it is a mid range and that is what you get. I have read that people don't like that that mic is open. That is a setting in your WIN7 not the set itself so turn off the audio mic passthrough. It is in your pref. However I do find that since I wear glasses it is very soar about the top of my ears as it presses down a bit at that location. But still ver y impressed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would have been good but for one glaring issue I have had these headphones for awhile now and have had a consistent problem with the fact that the left and right channels are reversed. Since I do not have regular speakers on my PC, it took me quite awhile to discover that it was indeed, the headset that was the problem and NOT the OS, or some other arcane setting I was unable to find. I have recently had a chance to plug in a few other USB headsets and those all work fine. In the time I've had the headset, I've upgraded the motherboard, chip set, and OS twice, so I know it isn't an issue with any of that. If you are just listening to music, it isn't a problem, but with games that have directional sound, it is really frelling annoying.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great with Good out going and Incoming audio I am actually a little shocked they had as much bass as they do. I use them for work and sometimes listen to music. My only big complaint is that I have to lift the mic above my nose otherwise my breathing is VERY easily picked up (this makes me very self conscious when speaking to customers). I highly recommend one of those foam windscreen caps you put over the mic if you plan to use this professionally (see the attache picture).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What happened to Plantronics quality? Have always used Plantronics headsets and recommended them in the past... no longer. The speakers produce nice sounds, but the mic is really junk. Mic produces a constant noise which is audible even when levels are set to lowest possible. The mic is ALWAYS in monitor mode (you can here your voice and noise) whenever an application that can record or playback audio is open even if you turn monitoring off in the app. Mic recording level is extremely low. With mic only 3 inches from mouth and recording levels set at max, I couldn't get to -12dB without talking very very loudly. I tested multiple headset as well. We bought 12 for podcasting and video voice over work and will be sending them back. Would work fine for gaming or listening to music, but not for any recording. BTW, the info packed with the headset state 32mm drivers and the website says 40mm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good for price For the price, it really isn't that bad.  Don't expect the sound quality of a 300 dollar headset from these though.  I've had it for a couple years now and it still works fine.  I use them on a daily basis for computer games.  For those who complain about plugging and unplugging- you need to learn how to use your sound settings to turn off your headset without unplugging.  The only downside to this for me is that the leather and cloth tear apart after awhile but mine are still in great working condition.   Overall, for its price it gets the job done and lasts a long time if taken good care of.
