Is this ball head "MH490-BH" ?

I love this tripod. It was my "go to" travel buddy when I recently went on vacation to Hawaii. I wanted to get photos of me with my wife on Oahu. And, this little baby did the trick. It is flimsy, but worked just fine when I needed to use it. My camera is quite heavy with a normal lens, but this little gem could withstand the weight! And, the best part is it is super light weight. We took it everywhere we went. It comes with a great carrying bag as well. Well worth the investment! I highly recommend it!

The ball head is 218 grams (including the quick-release plate). If the quick-release plate is on your camera, then the ball head alone is 188 grams. I weighed it on my kitchen scale.

is this compatible with the sony a7rii?
Asked by: Spencer
Yes, the Manfrotto BeFree Compact Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod is compatible with the Sony A7RII, depending on what lens is attached. With a capacity of 8.8 pounds, the BeFree tripod will work with the Sony A7R2 camera with most lenses that are offered. If one were to attach a 8 pound lens to the Sony camera, it would not be compatible.

Is the tripod long enough for me to take portrait shots ?
Asked by: Anonymous
Depends on how tall your subjects are. The tripod maxes out at around 5ft. Most people are above 5Ft so you might be shooting majority of your shots below them. I wouldnt look at a travel tripod for shooting portraits since they are usually shorter in size.

Does the 496RC2 ball head fit on this tripod? ...

Does the 496RC2 ball head fit on this tripod? Will it add additional load capacity for use with a D810 and a 70-200mm lens?
Asked by: Adrienne
I don't know for sure, but I can't imagine the ball head won't fit - it's a standard mount. This is a very light weight tripod though, and I wouldn't use it as a primary tripod. It's great to strap onto a backpack when you can't bring a heavier set, and it is extremely compact.
