This BL-D7100 L-Bracket for Nikon D7100 Camera from Kirk is an Arca-type compatible bracket machined from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Composed of a PZ-155 quick release plate and an LBS-D7100 L-bracket side, it enables fast changes between portrait and landscape orientation.

The L-bracket removes the need to readjust your head and completely recompose the shot. You can simply release the bracket from your Arca-type compatible quick release clamp, tilt it 90°, and lock the bracket back in place. Using an L-bracket also facilitates a sturdier base of support than tilting an entire head to a 90° position.

The plate features a 1/4"-20 stainless steel mounting screw and an adjacent 1/4"-20 socket. A slot on the PZ-155 allows for the use of a camera strap.

The L-bracket's design allows access to both the battery door and the connection ports.
A slot on the plate lets you attach a camera strap to the L-bracket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ....Great advice & support ..! ..I needed an L bracket' for my new D7100, as the one from my D300 did not fit properly on my ball head. The B & H agent on the phone was so supportive and helpful with regard to choosing the one that would fit the D7100 I went with his advice. He assured I could return it with no problem if it did not suit. I am glad to report it worked out fine, not perfect , but good enough! Cheaper than the one I was going ot buy originally. I appreciate the personal care and serivce I always receive from B & H. I shop no where else for all of my cameras and accoutrements since 2004! JB Dunn

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised but wish packaging was more friendly... It turned out that I only needed the PZ-155 quick-release plate and then I was able to turn the camera either horizontal or vertical on my tripod easily which I couldn't do with the release that came with the MEFOTO tripod. Unfortunately, Kirk wraps their products so you have to tear them out of the package and the packaging was destroyed which meant that I couldn't return to just buy only the release. Expensive lesson. On the plus side, I tried it put together and it did work as promised. I LOVE the PZ-155 release. I can use my camera strap with it and then just remove the strap and put the camera on the tripod.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid L-Bracket works well This is my second Kirk L-Bracket. The fist was for the D200. This is very well made and easy to use both vertically and horizontally. I have also used it with cables attached. The HDMI cable is quite stiff and I don't think I would try it without a spacer block when used vertically. You might be able to use a USB without the spacer block since it is a smaller cable. I used the spacer anyway. My only complaint is that when the bracket is positioned to give maximum clearance for the cables, the anti-rotation feature is not quite solid enough. It can't rotate but it can kind of spring. Part of the problem is that there is no rubber on the bottom of the D7100, only plastic. So there's no stick only slide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! This bracket works great on my 7100. It's built solid, accepts my Black Rapid strap, and adds very little weight. My best accessory purchase yet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This one works Not the cheapest but it works as intended. You can access all the plug-in ports on the side of the camera. Another nice touch is the index marks for the location of the center of the imaging chip - very handy for panorama nodal point setups. A quality piece of gear complete with Allen wrenches - well thought out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made, fits well, good deal. This bracket allows me to use my D7100 without having to change from my gimbal head to a ball head and still get both horizontal and vertical shots. It also allows me to use a wired remote without having to remove the L-bracket. It is compatible with all of the Swiss Arca type release plates that I use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well ... but The bracket is solidly enough made even though Kirk seems to be going to a more modular philosophy. The L is attached with two Allen socket cap screws. I can see a practical advantage in being able to remove the L to allow access to the left side of the camera. But the counterbalancing disadvantage would be the small bits that could easily be lost during an in-the-field manipulation. That includes the wrench(es) that should reside in each and every camera bag the camera will call home. In order to allow access to the battery, the plate can only be so long and this is not quite long enough to inspire confidence in the usefulness of the positioning lip when the camera has been positioned away from the L for access to the various inputs. This is going to be simply academic for well over 95% of the time but I'm not looking forward to the possibility of needing to fight droop when the camera is mounted in portrait mode with a heavy lens fitted. Still, for me, L-brackets are the way to go and, for most use, this is a nifty piece of kit.
