How well would this lens be expected to perform for shooting the milky way? I am currently shooting with the kit 18-35mm lens and am looking to take get better image quality when shooting at night than i can achieve with the kit lense. Is there a compatible Nex7 lens that would be recommended before this one? I don't mind if it would require an adapter, just looking for a good night photography lens with a reasonable price.
In this focal range and price range I would say this is the best you could opt for to give you improved image quality over your 18-35mm kit lens. Sony offers a 16mm f2.8 lens but it would not give you the same field of view as this lens would, and the optical quality of this Zeiss lens is much greater than the Sony 16mm option.

Will this lens work on the new FF Sony E-mount cameras?
The Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 Lens (Sony E-Mount) can be used on the full frame Sony E mount cameras, though the cameras will crop down to an APS-C size sensor mode. This lens is not designed to cover a full frame sensor.

If I use this on my Sony Fs700 will it be cropped since the Fs700 is a super 35? I'm debating on buying it but not sure about its ability to perform in terms of video.
There shouldnt be vignetting, no. Super 35 is roughly the same size as APS-C.

The lens comes with a 2-year USA limited warranty. If you are outside of the United States, please check with the manufacturer locally, to see if they will honor the USA warranty. This is entirely up to the discretion of the manufacture in question and out of the control of B&H.

The ZEISS Touit lens will work on any Sony E mount camera. If the camera uses a FF sensor, the camera will recognize the lens is designed for APS-C sensors and will automatically crop the image. This feature can be turned off and the user can crop the image manually.

The ZEISS Touit 12mm f/2.8 Lens for FUJIFILM X should have no issues handling the full 40 MP on the Fujifilm X-T5.
