ZEISS Touit 32mm f/1.8 Reviews

Simply a must

I use Zeiss glass on every camera system I use. The 32mm Touit is considered by many the weakest lens in the Touit lineup which is a shame because it's a true gem. It reminds me of the old Zeiss Contax G lenses but with a modern approach. The lens lives n my Fujifilm cameras.

What an excellent Zeiss lens!

Every characteristic is very positive.. I has some of that Zeiss look, and rez, colors, contrast, etc., are excellent.

My zeiss touit 32mm lens suffered from worse CA and color fringing than any other lens I owned in the similar focal range. The touit line of lenses are cheaply made and break at the slightest use. So much for lenses being a lifetime investment. You're lucky if you get a year of use out of it before the aperture siezes or the focus gives out.

This is an excellent lens. I like the small size and it seems sturdy. Very sharp. B&H is replacing Amazon for me for photo equipment. Better to get this kind of stuff from a company that specializes.

I really can't say enough good about this lens. It's truly exceptional! The size may be compact, but it is packed with quality! The build is exceptional, not too heavy, but you can tell it is solid and made of premium materials. Just like you would expect from Zeiss. I have used this lens during weddings and professional portrait shoots and I am always thrilled with the results (and so are my clients). If you enjoy shooting right into the sun, this lens does produce some noticeable flaring, even with the hood attached. I personally enjoy it, as I feel it adds some character to some of the photos, but it's a personal preference and not necessarily something everyone will like. Just something to keep in mind. Also, the only other caveat is that the focusing motor is loud compared to most any other lens I've used. It's not as annoying as Sony's nifty fifty, but it is noticeable, so if you intend to use for video, I would only recommend it if you have an external microphone attached to your subject or if you plan on editing out the audio anyway. But for still, as long as you don't need a silent lens, this thing is remarkable and takes beautiful shots! I use this and the Zeiss 55mm as well as the Zeiss Batis 85mm for virtually all of my portrait work and couldn't be happier! The build is definitely on par with my Batis lens. Attached are a couple of photos. One with lens flare and one without. Hope that helps.

Love that Zeiss color!

I have some Fuji lenses (including the 23mm and 90mm f2) but decided to give this a try given the reputation of Zeiss lenses in general. I am so happy I did. This has become my most used lens almost from day one; I just simply get the most beautiful images in terms of color and sharpness. The Fuji lenses I have are very good but this lens simply has a quality to it, I am not getting out of those otherlenses. It is also super light despite being chunkier than the Fuji equivalents. Not always the fastest lens to focus, but that is not an issue for me.

I know this is x mount, but will this work with the xt3?

Yes. As the ZEISS Touit 32mm f/1.8 Lens (Fujifilm X-Mount), B&H # ZE3218TX, is designed for use with Fujifilm cameras that use the X-mount lens mount, and as the FUJIFILM X-T3 Mirrorless Digital Camera uses Fujifilm's X-mount lens mount, yes, the ZEISS Touit 32mm f/1.8 Lens (Fujifilm X-Mount) would be compatible for use with the FUJIFILM X-T3 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

question

Can you comment on how well it performs in IR work...with 850 and 950 nm filters?
Asked by: Anonymous
The lens should work very well shooting IR. The main issue is how the sensor works with IR filters more so than the lens.

question

I don't see anywhere that it says the lens being sold is new. Is it new, sealed in the box and not a return or demo?
Asked by: Anonymous
All items in our inventory would be new, unless clearly stated otherwise on the item's page. And for the most part, no used or refurbished items will come up in a search unless you are specifically looking in our Used Department. That being said, this Touit 32mm f/1.8 Lens (Sony E-Mount) is a new lens.

Asked by: William
Yes, it is an excellent portrait lens as long as you're okay with a shorter focal length. I would say this is about as wide as you want to go with portrait lens (32mm on a crop sensor would be equivalent to 48mm). This is a beautiful lens. If you were

question

If used on a Sony A7, would this lens require the camera to be used in crop mode ?
Asked by: Anonymous
You have the choice. You can use the lens on the camera and keep the full-frame aspect but with vignetting, or you can assign the camera to crop its sensor and optimize itself for use with this APS-C lens.
