Redrock Micro 8-063-0001 overview

  • 1Description

Enabling the use of Nikon F mount lenses on your Canon EF mount camera, this 3-pack of Lens Adapters from Redrock Micro feature a durable, machined aluminum alloy construction along with a no-slip design intended specifically for video use. In addition to the traditional bayonet mount, these adapters are also secured in place using a locking set screw pin and set screws to ensure a firm connection that is ideal for focus pulling and constant use.

This 3-pack of adapters is well-suited to videographers working with multiple lenses during a shoot. Each adapter has a manual, non-electronic design, will not communicate lens data to the camera body, and requires the use of manual exposure modes and manual focus.

    Redrock Micro 8-063-0001 reviews

Nikon F to Canon EF Lens Mount Adapter (3-Pack) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well machined I used 4 of these to update a set of Zeiss Milvus ZF lenses to EF mount. I went with the ZFs over the ZEs for the manual iris control and when attached correctly, these adapters feel as solid as a native EF mount. On some lenses like the Milvus, the iris pull will become difficult if you tighten them down too much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Nikon to EF adapters As I'm using my Nikon lenses on Canon C300 for video work, I need the lens to be mounted securely without wobble while I pull focus. I've tried 3 other brands with quick release before but they are not as secured (basically the same design with the same problem). The 4 tiny screws of the Redrock Micro adapter are indeed a challenge to put on. But once they are on, the adapter stays firmly in place, and there's no play when mounted on the camera. I do hope Redrock can provide more spare screws as they can disappear quite easily. The trick I found, is to first have some tray or sticky mat on the working surface so that the screws don't fall off the table. Mounting the screw on the tiny allen key first before transferring it to the lens helps. Also good to be careful while working on the lens, as some lenses have big gaps at the rear lens element. The screws can easily disappear inside. Having said that, if some screws do go missing the adapter can still stay in place with just 2 or 3 screws. This is a good solution when you don't mind leaving the adapter on the lens. If you need to change the lens quickly between Nikon and Canon cameras this wouldn't work. As the set didn't come with any instructions, it may not be clear at first how to mount the adapter on the lens. It's actually quite simple. Align the white dot on the adapter to the iris mark on the lens, then turn it counter clockwise all the way (when looking at the rear of the lens). Secure the 4 screws and you're done. Another advantage of Redrock over other brands is that it works with Canon rear lens cap. When using other brands I could never secured the lens cap properly. Well done Redrock. 5 stars despite the screws.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy but Difficult to Attach These adaptors will secure your lens with NO wobble once it's on the camera body. That being said, it felt like performing surgery on an ant to get it attached. Like some other reviewers have stated, the wrench is tiny and if you have anything other than the steadiest of hands of daintiest of fingers, you'll struggle with getting this thing mounted properly. Why am I giving it four stars? Because once it's on, it's not going to slip. It's built very well and fits the Nikon F mount perfectly. I would have given it five stars except for the stress of trying to mount the darn thing. At one point, I dropped a screw on the floor. Had to use a magnet to find it because it was too small to see easily. AND they give you no extra screws, so BE CAREFUL as you mount this adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got what I was looking for. After checking all the possible options I could use (brands, sensor, sensorless etc), I purchased the Redrock Adapters for my Canon. Needless to say, I am very happy with my purchase. Yes, they do come without the user's guide to install them, but a quickly search will give you the desired result (it took me les than a minute). I am not the most talented person with my hands, but the installation is easy and fast. Yes, they are not the kind of adapters you are gonna be moving constantly from one lens to another (because they are not designed for that), but if you have a set of lens, the 3-pack option is a fantastic choice. I have one mounted in each one of my lenses and the behavior in all of them is fantastic (nicely fit in each one of the lenses, they do not get loose etc... even with heavy ones). To sum up, the best option for these kind of adapters if you know what you are buying and if this is what you are looking for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great craftsmanship. Very well made but a little tricky mounting. It's worth not having to remove and mount an adapter every time I change a lens.
