Did a lot of research and viewed many reviews on Youtube, finally bought this prime lens for OMD EM1 Mark III. It is fast and sharp.

This lens is what would great on the smaller Olympus bodies, very compact and great for the money, it will go in my every day camera bag. I have a camera for every day shooting and an event bag that has a Pentax K1 MK II, K3 MKII and an Olympus OMD-1 MKII. I photograph many different types of events and the Oly gives me a more compact option, the new Pentax 85 is large and expensive, I opted for the Oly 45mm F 1.8 and after it came I found it small so I went for the 45mm F-1.2 Pro and that will be my event lense, it's fast and the right size for the OMD EM1

Olympus makes some of the finest glass

After shooting with Leica, Hasselblad and Nikon, I have become used to fine lenses and only want the best for my recent GH5. Olympus lenses have astounded me. I first purchased the 17mm f1.8 - very nice and love the manual focus clutch mechanism - then the 12-40mm f2.8 - one of the best zooms I've ever used, also with the cool clutch - and now the 45mm f1.8. Although housed in plastic, it has superb optics and what it lacks in not having the clutch; it makes up in its speedy auto-focus ability. I don't have any difficulty using the manual focus-by-wire, absent the convenient clutch. One solid lens that I look forward to using a lot. The one accessory that I have ordered is a set of extension rings to allow closer focusing. Surprisingly the 12-40mm zoom has a closer minimum focus than the 45mm prime. A great buy nevertheless.

Amazing!

Like its big brother - the 75mm f1.8 lens (see my review there), this one also produces stunning images with a shallow depth of field, clear focus, and impressive results. However, this one is much smaller on the camera (GH5). Its size may be small, but it's results are about as good as the 75mm lens, only with a wider focal length.

Gorgeous, useful lens.

A tiny beast. The textures on this are amazing. Tack sharp, but not overly clinical. My main gripe is the lack of hard stops for focus, but that's something one has to deal with shooting native on MFT

question

CAN THIS LENS (AND THE OLY 25MM 1.8 LENS) WITH A CERTAIN MOUNT FIT ON THE NEW SONY 7AR2 CAMERA ?AND DO YOU LOSE OR GAIN ANY THING WITH THAT ADAPTER? PLANNING TO GET IT FOR MY NEW GH4.
Asked by: DALE F.
Micro four thirds lenses will not work on the Sony a7RII. B&H does not carry a M43 to Sony E-mount adapter, nor am I aware of one on the market. The M43 lenses, such as this 45mm f/1.8, are designed for a sensor half the size of the a7R II. So, even if you were to find an adapter, the lens wouldnt cover the entire full frame sensor. An optic would also likely be needed in order for the lens to retain focus at infinity, as the difference in the register between the two mounts is just over 1mm.

Asked by: Andrew
Yes, DJI Inspire 1 v2.0 RAW Quadcopter with Zenmuse X5R 4K Camera and 3-Axis Gimbal has a micro 4/3 lens mount. Any Olympus micro 4/3 lens (Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 Lens (Black)) will be compatible with this Gimbal.

question

Can I use this lens with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF7?
Asked by: Achareeya P.
Yes, the lens is compatible with the GF7 since both are part of the Micro Four Thirds system. However, unlike some Panasonic lenses, the Olympus lenses do not have optical image stabilization (OIS) and rely on in-body stabilization as found in Olympus cameras -- the GF7 doesn't have that. So you'll be giving up image stabilization with this lens. It's a great lens however, and I highly recommend it.

question

Is this good for shooting video on the GH4 since it doesn't have manual focus?
Asked by: Anonymous
Don't think so, if your camera doesn't do the AF by it self in video, you won't have other way to do it.
