The Bower 52mm Digital HD Circular Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions.

This filter is constructed from optical glass and features an aluminum filter ring to provide increased rigidity and durability.

Helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.
Polarizing filters arrange, and filter, directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of the light.
Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.
Strongest effect when used at a 90° from the sun.

52mm Digital HD Circular Polarizer Filter is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great CPL for the price range Repeating another customer's review, with some more details: Yes, it does protect your lens' front glass (not whole lens :) )from scratches, dust, fingerprints slight hits (from cracking and breaking) - believe me, if lens gets real hit, lens internals (focusing, aperture, zooming, VR motors and gears) will get real damage as well as internal glasses might be shifted etc. so, even if you have most expensive protective UV filter attached or even bulletproof glass, this will not save your lens... Yes, it does cut off polarised light filtering and for it's price it is more than satisfactory. you always have choice for Zeiss and other high grade CPL filters and just has 1-1.5 stop EV reduction. Yes, it does add distortions to lens optical characteristics and might degrade it, BUT, more or less those distortions are applied even by most expensive filter attachments, any lens is produced by manufacturer as is and it's characteristics are calculated without any add-ons. Anyway, with advanced or flagship cameras, you still have to worry about other kinds of distortions, moire caused by excessive MP of sensors, cross pixel noises, active sensing area to pixel size (pixel fill ratio) issues, gap or gapless micro lenses on sensors, vibrations at camera lens mount point, moving elements inside lens etc... list might be endless and definitely you have to do post-processing of your images and you can correct slight distortions added by this UV filter. So, except highest grade, topmost filters of any specific kind (UV, CPL, ND, etc.), which have significant optical performance, you are getting great attachment for your lens, especially for its price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product I have a nikon 3200. I wanted a cheap polarizer since I'm a beginner and I got this Bower. I think it's a pretty good buy. I use it mainly to get nice sky shots and it works just fine. What I didn't like is that sometimes it gets stuck when using another filter and its hard to take off. And, although it's not fragile, I would have liked it to be more strong. My suggestion: pay a little more and get a better one if you're into photography. If not, it's perfect for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not for the reason I bought it I originally bought the lens hoping it would make my photos look interesting. I haven't really got the effect I had hoped. However! It does protect my lens which is just a tertiary plus.It also has the effect of darkening the exposures, which makes sense. It's a nice benefit when taking shots in the daytime of the sky. Sometimes I can't get my shutter speed high enough to balance out the sky.I'll probably get another for my other lens.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointed I couldn't get it to screw on to my camera lens, but that might be the fault of the camera (Nikon Coolpix P520). The face of the filter was unpolished(!) over about 5 degrees of its 360-degree perimeter -- it had the texture of ground glass like the edge, instead of an optical finish. Oh well, I didn't pay much for it, so I wasn't all that surprised. Didn't bother to try to return it for a refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nive filter for the money I'm just getting started with DSLR photography. I haven't used this lens a lot yet, but it seems to do a good job of eliminating the haze on really bright days. I will update this review after my summer trip to Yosemite, where we start our hike around 9k feet. The last trip to half dome, the pictures came out nice, but really had the blue haze from being up so high.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked well for me !! more than expected I bought it so that I can photograph during my hike. Well as i said, i didn't expect much from this particular filter(because its cheap); it served the purpose so well and helped me to take some best pics . I would surely recomend a beginer to buy this product...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bower Polarizer Filter This filter wasn't what I expected because I think it can only work with autofocus.
