WD WDBH2D0020HNC-NRSN overview

  • 1Description

Store and access up to 2TB of your files in a desktop computer, NAS device, or RAID array using the 2TB Desktop Everyday SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive from WD. 2TB will allow you to store movies, photos, music, documents, and much more. Compatible with computers running Windows and Mac OS, this hard drive connects to your system's 3.5" bay via the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface.

In terms of speed, this drive operates using WD's IntelliPower rotational speed. This means that rpm speed of the drive depends on the operations being performed. If the drive is performing mostly sequential reads and writes, its speed will be increased as compared to if it were performing mostly random mode operations. This 2TB drive also features a 64MB cache to help ensure uninterrupted data transfers. Included with this hard drive are mounting screws.

    WD WDBH2D0020HNC-NRSN reviews

2TB Desktop Everyday SATA III 3.5" Hard Drive is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running good Runs just like my other three 2TB drives. Have had good luck with Western Digital drives for a good number of years. I hope it continues. So far so good. Using this as a backup for images. Initially when I plugged it in I could see it in the bios and in the device manager but it would not show up as a valid drive in windows explorer. The reason was the drive did not contain a partition. Just popped in my Windows 7 CD booted off of that and acted like I was going to re-install windows. When I got to the drive setup I added a partition to the new drive and then exited out. Drive shows up and holds my data perfect now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Drive for Surveillance DVR, quiet I bought this for my DVR in my ZModo Surveillance system due to the 5400 RPM, and it was recognized and was formatted easily within the menu. The operation is quiet and cool, not warm to the touch, low power saving. It formats down to 1.84GB after the Linux formatting of the drive, Windows is close to that. I hope that it lasts a long time. I have only been using it for about a week. Packaging was great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does not work with XP SP3 32-bit. It work with Win 7 32 bit but not with XP SP3 32 bit. It is quite, no comment on the reiability as I was struggling to make it work with XP 32-bit in the last few days. I even partitioned and formatted in a Win 7, but when I put it back to my XP machine, the XP Disk Management failed to pick it up. So you have to up grade OS Win 7 or higher or XP 64 bit system

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very satisfied Intalled this in a 7 year old Dell XPS 410 computer running Windows 7 as a 2nd drive for photos/backup, as my primary 500GB hard drive was getting full. This was my first time doing this, but installation was very simple after viewing some info on the Dell website, and a few online how to videos. Drive was up and running in about 20 minutes. No problems so far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better Than Expected The green drive is not WD's highest performance drive, but I was happy to get read speeds of 117 MB/sec and write speeds of 70 MB/sec when plugged into a SATA card on a 4-year old computer. I was gonna use it to replace the drive in an older WD MyBook. It worked, but was slow, so I put it inside the computer; I did not want to waste its speed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RAID drive replacement easy to install, replacement for one that burned out a week ago, same drive. They seem to last about 5 years in the array which has recently been decommissioned but is going to storage now with a new drive (1 out of 4). Probably better not used for NAS drives but fine in a dedicated array.
