It's a huge umbrella and when you don't have time to rig silk, this is a great alternative solution.

Love this for full body portraits. Also great for replicating natural light. Much better than the PCB modifiers. Great for creating rich skin tones

Shoot through or portable shade

Great defusion and distribution. I use it with a Westcott Triple Threat Speedlite Bracket and Nikon SB-910 speedlights. An awesome combination with great results. If it is windy leave it in the vehicle. It is sturdy but wind is a problem. It is also great for those times you need some shade while you are out on location.

question

Two questions here. I work in a studio setting with 500 W daylight bulbs. Will this stand the high heat generated by the bulbs? Also, with the light be distributed enough to light an entire person, standing, or objects the size of a car if I use two units?
Asked by: Rebecca D.
Hi Rebecca. I use profoto D1 and B1 strobes versus continuous light. So, I'm not sure the heat rating of this umbrella. If you're shooting with fluorescent or LED lights, I would guess you'll be ok. If you're using anything that generates a lot of heat, I'd check with the manufacturer for what it can handle regarding heat. As far as coverage, I use this all the time for large groups as my fill light and it works great. You get a lot of diffusion for the price.

question

Is this gonna fit my elinchrom strobes?
Asked by: Avrumie K.
I expect it would fit. It is really the same shaft that comes on any umbrella. It produces a beautiful soft light due to the large six foot diameter.

question

Whats the most durable tiltable mounting bracket to use this on?
Asked by: Denise R.
This is a great umbrella...it's heavy for the lighter weight brackets. I use it with Profoto D1 Strobes, which hold it well. I'd suggest a heavy duty bracket for it. You'll be disappointed if you cut corners on a light duty one
