Are these speakers compatible with a Samsung TV?
Asked by: Tomas
If the TV has an 3.5mm speaker output jack, then yes. If not then see if you have optional audio output - looks like the original TOSLINK square port, which never carries any electrical connectors (unlike the 3.5mm round optical out which usually carries both optical and electrical connectors). Your options are using a optical-to-analogue converter, or replacing the TV. If you use a simple converter, make sure the TV can output stereo PCM (Audio setting), if you use a A/V amplifier it should handle the TVs output formats. If you already have an A/V amp, just use the headphone jack to connect your 3.5mm plug (with a 3.5 to 1/4 inch converter) or in this case Bose Companion 2 Series III. I use it as intended as computer speakers.

I am using computer speakers for video editing; the ones I am using are powered speakers that buzz when my iPhone gets near it, which is frequently. The specs on the Bose Companion 2 Series III don't mention that they are shielded. Will they also be susceptible to RF interference?
Asked by: Elsa
Bose does not mention that the Bose Companion 2 Series III Multimedia Speaker System BH #BOC23MS are shielded but from personal experiences, what you are referring to is known as "GSM Buzz". It used to be a bigger problem with older phones and older equipment that was not designed when cellphones were as common as they are today and I have not experienced it in many years using more recent iPhone's and more recent speakers so it should not be an issue but I could not guarantee it since all electrical devices emit RF and could potentially cause interference.
