Eyefi 16GB SDHC Overview

The 16GB 16GB Mobi SDHC Wi-Fi Memory Card from Eye-Fi features maximum read and write speeds of 13 MB/s and 23 MB/s, respectively, with minimum transfer rates of 10 MB/s. Built-in 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz band enables you to instantly send photos and videos from your SDHC-enabled camera to your Apple or Android smartphone or tablet--without the need for a wireless network. This makes it quicker and easier for you to share your images via email, text, social media sites or save directly to the Eye-Fi Cloud. The wireless range is 45' indoors and 90' outdoors.

Simply install the free Eye-Fi app--available from the Apple App Store, Google Play or Amazon's Kindle Fire app store--on your mobile device, enter the 10-digit activation code located on the back of the Mobi card case, and you're good to go. Once paired with your smart device, the card transfers images and videos whenever new content is detected by your device. The wireless network created by your Mobi card offers WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK and WEP 64/128 encryption for security. Additionally, once the transfer is complete, the card disconnects its Wi-Fi to conserve your battery life. Advanced power management also optimizes battery use.

Eye-Fi Cloud

With the Eye-Fi Cloud you can backup your photos directly to a private cloud based server. Photos are not an add-on to what is offered, they are the focus. You can quickly and easily view your stored photos without the need to deal with spreadsheets, random files, or documents.

Eyefi 16GB SDHC Reviews

card works, until it snaps

I've gone through 2 of these in 2 years because the plastic used in the housing is much weaker than what seems to be used in all of my other SD cards (I have 10 or so). I handle all of my cards the same way and these snap at the same point.

Mixed Feelings

Eyefi cards are amazing and a must have product. This was my first purchase from b&h and I was really happy with the process. The price was on point as it was almost the same price at the 8g. The problem was the connect speed and connection process. it was not good and smooth as my friends had told me about. Uploading was really slow and it was a pain at times. After a day or two I learned there was a problem with this particular one and ended up sending it back. Unfortunately, b&h discontinued this, which might be why i had so many issues (as well as my camera said it couldn't read it anymore). i was able to return it with no issues even without having the packaging to b&h and they overnighted me the replacement (the pro). it sucked i had to pay a bit more but once I received it i can honestly say the pro (black sd card) is 100x better and worth the extra. it connected within 10 seconds and uploaded to my phone quickly. it might be great at another retailer but not sure.

I wanted to test out the card because of mixed reviews so I wanted to try it for a couple days and never had to return it because it turned out to great. I can be shooting on the street and have it on my social media in minutes while simply walking down the street. The quick transfer of videos and pictures w/o having to be in a wifi location is great. Just make sure when transferring that you don't have your DSLR set to sleep after 1min because once the DSLR is sleep the transfer pauses. Set it to like 2 mins and your good.

question

I have the Nikon D5100 & understand this will work with the model, but I take raw. Will it transfer my raw files to my iPad? Will I also be able to download the raw files on this eye-fi card into Lightroom CC after viewing on my iPad? Thanks.
Asked by: Phyllis
Raw files are not transferred via wifi connection to any device from any camera on this card. It will however store raw files to be transferred or imported into any application on both MAC or WIN OS that will handle RAW files. In order to transfer files via wifi you will need to store the images as jpg's. In order to transfer files via wifi and create importable RAW files you will need to write both RAW and jpg's to the card via camera setup.

question

is the eyefi mobi compatible with the Nikon D5100 ?
Asked by: Deborah
Yes it is! It's a question whether it's compatible with your phone and computer and then it's just a matter of downloading the right software. It only takes JPEG so your raw files stays on the card. Mikael
