At its core, this filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. The warming effect then complements the increase in clarity and saturation by providing an even, warm cast to subjects.

Very very good glass. Pricey. I've used these on my zooms for years, and am absolutely happy with their performance.

Best filter, but pricey

I've used these for years, and never had a problem. I have several Singh-Ray filters, and use them constantly to eliminate water reflections, glare in architectural work, and occasionally in the studio. The warming filter adds a bit of red to a scene, and is especially suited to landscape work.

Impeccable quality, as always

As has always been the case with Singh-Ray filters, this polarizer is top-notch. No one else can match their quality. This was my first time using the thin mount version, and I don't think I would go back to the regular version. At least not for wide angle use. In the past I've always had problems with the filter being visible in the frame when shooting at the lens' widest focal length. But the thin mount filter is completely invisible! And as a landscape photographer, I love the added warming filter bonus.

Nice filter - tough to rotate

Nice filter, but it's tough to rotate in the filter holder. Hopefully it will loosen up over time. The 'warming' feature adds nice tones to the images. This filter also allows other square or rectangular filters to slide easily in front of it allowing stacking.

question

They make another version that works with the Lee systemWhich one is the other version?

If you have the Lee 100mm Filter holder, you would need the LEE Filters 105mm Accessory Front Thread Adapter Ring to use a circular polarizer on the front of the filter holder. You could then go with the Singh-Ray 105mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer Filters.

I want to put this on my Leica Q2. Uses 49 mm threads. Does this filter have front threads so I can put the lens shade back on the lens. Want to leave the filter on always but also want the Q2 supplied shade left on?
Asked by: Marcus
The hood for the Leica Q2 Digital Camera threads onto the outer threads of the lens. That hood does not thread onto the 49mm filter threads, rather its own separate threads. Based on how the hood angles inwards, it would be very hard of not impossible to use the Singh-Ray 49mm LB Warming Circular Polarizer Filter with the hood. For one it probably would not fit under the hood, and there would be no way to adjust the polarization. Generally polarizing filters are only used as needed and not left on the camera permanently, as these have an effect on the image that is not always desirable.

People recommend a slip on cap since you can't use a snap on lens cap. What size and brand works best? I suggest B&H add such a cap to their accessories list.

The Kaiser 80mm push cap fits perfectly.

question

Will this filter viengette @ 24mm's?
Asked by: Philip D.
This filter is pretty thick, and some vigenette will occur @ 24mm; assuming your len's filter threads are 77mm and you purchase a 77mm filter. I would suggest buying a 82mm version or buy a HOYA neutral polarizer. The HOYA is a lot thinner and the warming aspect of the filter is pointless with digital photography. Warming on a digital camera is actually a bad thing.
