The P Series Diffraction Halo Filter is designed for use with a Kood P Series or Cokin P Series Filter Holder. When used perpendicular to a point light source such as the sun, a light bulb, or a candle; fine etchings within the filter help to create a multicolored halo effect that surrounds the light source. This is due to the ability of those etched circles to separate light into its component low frequency and high frequency wavelengths, resulting in distinguishable colors ranging from red to blue within the halo.
This filter is most effective for pictures where the light source used to generate the halo effect is a highlight with a significant degree of contrast from the rest of the image. The frame the Kood P Series Diffraction Halo Filter is mounted in features serrated edges so that the filter can be easily rotated while placed within a compatible holder in order to adjust overall orientation of the halo effect.
