Create beautiful lighting and take advantage of your shoe-mounted flash's true potential with the FreeWave Aviator Wireless Flash Trigger Transceiver from Vello. Dedicated to Nikon's i-TTL system, users will have full functionality with modern automatic flash settings. This transceiver is also able to function as either a master transmitter/trigger or a slave receiver for maximum versatility. Operation is reliable as well due to the Aviator's use of a 2.4 GHz radio frequency to provide a range of up to 300' without the need for line-of-sight.

The Aviator Transceiver has access to 16 different channels, ensuring limited interference with other users and the wireless technology set up in your venue. Users will also have access to 3 different groups with which to organize their flashes (A, B, C). The group controls of the Aviator allow for separate adjustment of the flashes in either TTL or manual modes as well as the ability to set group ratios in A:B or A:BC configurations.

Setting up the Aviator is simple as it easily slides into your camera's hot shoe to receive TTL information and also offers top hot shoe for adding another flash to the mix. For ease of use, all information is accessible via a backlit LCD screen and it has a standard 3.5mm sync port. Also, it has high-speed and second curtain sync and a mini-USB port for firmware updates. It runs on two AA batteries.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vello Freewave Aviator Receiver Vello Freewave Aviator Receiver is compact and had 1/4 metal stand mount. The Vello wireless TTL Flash is easy when matched with the Vello Freewave Aviator Master Transceiver. You just buy the amount of receivers needed and your set. The basis for the unit is the trans-sender unit has 3 positions A-B-C that correspond to the Freewave Aviator Receiver, then you choose the channel and you are ready. Each receiver has its own separate settings and can control up to 3 light stations wirelessly. It is so simple you read the directions, make the settings and your off.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not reliable, not worth it My wife bought a set - one tranceiver and two receivers for me for Xmas. I was thinking since I had an SB800 and an SB900 flash, with a Nikon D750, it would be a good thing to have for doing multiple flashes. I tried it at the time, it didn't work. I figured it was just me rushing through. When I had time later, I tried it, following the instructions. The receiver sort of worked, but the transceiver didn't. It would sometimes fire fine, sometimes fire with all flashes on full power, even though it was set to TTL, and a lot of the time, just fail to fire. I haven't bothered to try it on manual, as I have plenty of remotes that work fine in manual only. I usually like Vello products, but I'm sorry she wasted her money on this one. Tossing it into the maybe some other day bin, as I can't rely on it. :/
