EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR Overview

  • 1Description

The SuperNOVA 1000 G2 1000W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply from EVGA is a powerful and efficient modular ATX power supply designed with a single +12 V rail for stability and compatibility among current generation hardware. It's built with multiple heavy-duty protection features and the modular design allows you to connect only the cables you need. Unused cables can be stored should you decide to upgrade your system down the road. With less cable clutter, there will be better airflow within the chassis for lower temperatures. A built-in 140mm fan operates silently and provides additional heat dissipation. The SuperNOVA G2 comes with enough cables for multi-GPU setups and plenty of peripherals.

    EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR Reviews

SuperNOVA 1000 G2 1000W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from no red cables no red zone area around VGA inputs 4 stars for... We just recently installed so can't really review this PSU accurately. My Editing bay is running fine now with its new heart btw. Now, it's NOT a big deal but this should be noted to BH Photo and shoppers that it was received with NO red cables or red zone area where the female VGA ins on power supply brick. I and everyone else spending our hard earned money usually expect to receive the product as pictured on website. Easily (not a geek) installed PSU in an aging 8 year old ADK PRO editing turnkey because of start up issues. We trouble shooted but never pinpointed why the startup problems but took a chance with a fresh PSU. It starts fine now + no stuttering issues in CC Premiere working with 4K and .mxf 1080 60P too. Appears a weak PSU can starve your high end video cards and wreak havoc during playback. If you have an aging editing bay that you Love and want to keep then you might want to replace your PSU even if you're not having strange behavior after 5-6 years although it's just a matter of time. Just a thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not cheapest, but top quality - would happily buy again. Replaced failing unit. Easy install, modular with plenty of cables, does all need & more. No problems to date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best I test the G2 gold when I got it tested well and it easy to install and setup the power supply lives up to it ease of use and good design on the modular which can leave a clean and neat way to arrange your power usage for your motherboard and has a steady power flow Heavy duty design on the case and cables are long enough to be hidden on a good gamers computer case to you have cable out of the way Found it worth the price and good choice if your going to have two video case setup in your case give a good 5 stars on it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect power supply! The power supply arrived in perfect shape and on time. It was easy to swap out my old and this PS is capable of powering my system with two R9 390s running in Crossfire mode with out any issue. Cheers B&H!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this again! Especially from B&HPhoto Using this with cable sleeves and works perfectly! Power draw is super low. Would buy again if I built a second system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, but had problem with power button The problem I had was on the toggle switch for the power. I turned it on and it came on, but then I turned it off and the button was tilted a little. It seemed to be not seated properly. I was able to push it back in, but it didnt really snap into place so I am not sure if it will be a problem in the future or not. The supply is working well, runs at 800 watts (measured with a kill a watt meter) all day and night long for about a week now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Swapped out PSU in my main water cooled desktop Never a fun task swapping a major component like this in a complex full tower case with water cooling, but when your 10 year old premium PSU shows signs of inconsistent power delivery you don't hesitate. This EVGA full modular is one premium piece of kit and I highly recommend it! My power usage also has dropped as has my noise floor !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth the money! Installed in a gaming system with 1080 video card that draws 300 Watts. Fully capable and the modular design is only way to go to keep the case clear of cables that are not needed.

Is the EVGA 1000W quiet? I read that the 800W is, I would get the 800 but I plan on getting the 11gb evga card and lights and water, bunch of fans, so im going to decide the 1000w as it'll be surely an over kill hopefully. So, is this unit quiet? thanks.
    Asked by: rich b.
Hi Rich,It seems quiet to me, but I'm not running games on this PC. This PSU is installed in my work station running two AMD FirePro V7900 graphics cards in CrossFire mode, and 8 WD Black 1TB HDDs in RAID 6 (6 TB) using a RR2720SGL for storage, and a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 PCIe SSD for the system drive, along with two optical drives (LG blu-ray and M-Disc DVD burners). I have not ever really noticed it being noisy. I had the 800W EVGA and moved it to my lab/test PC. I definitely never heard it at all. Hope this helps.Michael
