Key Features
  • Nikon F Mount Lens
  • For APS-C Sized Image Format
  • Aperture Range: f/2.0-22
  • 24mm Equivalency in 35mm Format
The 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS Lens for Nikon F Mount from Rokinon is a manual focus wide-angle lens compatible with APS-C format DSLR digital cameras. It provides an 83.1° angle of view which translates into a 35mm format equivalency of 24mm. A fast maximum aperture of f/2.0 is effective in low light shooting and provides shallow depth of field. With two aspherical lens elements and one extra-low dispersion element, chromatic aberrations are minimized and sharp, color-accurate images are the result. UMC lens coating facilitates even light transmission and reduces ghosting and flare.

Yes, Rokinon 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS for Nikon F Mount is fully compatible with Nikon DSLRs with APS-C sized image format such as your Nikon D5000. The lens is manual focus only therefore you will need to set your camera to manual mode (M), operate the aperture on the lens, and control the shutter speed and ISO on the camera.

Can I use this lens with the nikon d5200?

Yes, it has the electronic contacts to needed to work with the D3XXX, the D5XXX, and the D7500 cameras. The instruction manual for the Rokinon 16mm f/2.0 states: "Your Nikon mount has electronic contacts that allow it to communicate with Nikon AF cameras. These contacts enable the A, S, and P modes of the camera. When a subject is correctly in focus, the camera emits a beep or an indicator light comes on."

question

Why the read-out information marks F4.8 or f5.6 when I got the f2 ring in the Nikon D7000?
Asked by: Juan L.
I have a D5600 but it should be the same:The Nikon version of this lense DOES actually have electric contacts that work with the camera. You have to keep the lens' apeture ring at 22, but then you can adjust the apeture from within your camera.

how does this compare How does this compare to the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 for astrophotography?
Asked by: james
I can't compare the two as only I have the 16mm lens. The 16mm does an adequate job with astrophotography. I've captured the milky way, meteor showers, constellations and star trails. One aspect I notice is that brighter objects in the night sky, planet and major stars for example, tend to exhibit a starburst pattern on the image. I don't know why that's happening, whether it's inherent in the lens design or something I'm not setting up correctly in my camera settings. I'm not crazy about the effect, but it's there none the less. Thus, I have some research to do. Overall, I'm satisfied with my lens.
