The CP685AVR AVR UPS from CyberPower has a capacity of 685VA/390W, eight (8) NEMA 5-15R receptacles, widely-spaced to accommodate transformer-based plugs. It was designed to safeguard commercial and home systems against surges, spikes, sags, and brownouts, protecting equipment and valuable data during a power outage.

Its small footprint allows for horizontal or vertical placement, or it can be conveniently mounted on a wall. This UPS has a maintenance-free, user-replaceable 12V/8AH battery and offers connectivity via one (1) HID USB and one (1) DB9 serial port.

EMI/RFI filters increase the immunity of the load to noise disturbances. PowerPanel Personal Edition Smart Management software is included to monitor the vitals of the UPS and safely shut down the system in case of a power outage.

Transformer-Spaced Outlets
Widely-spaced outlets accommodate large transformer-based plugs without compromising the utility of other outlets
EMI/RFI Filters
Shielding against electromagnetic interference and radio frequency signals prevents line noise ("humming") over telephone lines or audio systems
Quiet Operation
Lowest sound emissions of any UPS in its class
Automatic Voltage Regulation
AVR boosts the AC power and maintains a safe voltage level without switching to battery-mode, conserving battery life and delivering a cleaner signal to connected equipment
USB Connectivity
HID compliant USB port enables full integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows, Linux and Mac OS X
LED Indicators
LED status lights indicate power-on and wiring faults
Audible Alarms
Distinctive tones identify when the unit is running on battery power, if it is overloaded or when the battery is low
Resettable Circuit Breaker
The user may use this convenient unit reset switch in case of an overload
Mounting Options
Multiple mounting options: horizontal, vertical, cabinet, and wall
Reduce Energy Cost & Energy Loss
This ENERGY STAR qualified UPS system utilizes patented GreenPower UPS Bypass circuitry to save on energy costs by reducing energy consumption and heat buildup. Users can save up to 75% when compared to competitive models
PowerPanel Personal Edition
In event of a power outage, PowerPanel PE saves open files and hibernates the PC to increase the run-time on the UPS unit. PowerPanel is easily installed on any Windows-based PC and uses minimal system resources. Diagnostic screens display the status of the UPS, including silent operation mode, configurable system notifications, automatic self tests, adjustable high/low voltage warnings, event/data logging, and scheduled shutdowns

CP685AVR AVR UPS is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A sleeper UPS This UPS replaced another one which had finally passed on. In researching on the Web what's good and bad on the market today, I discovered that this CyberPower model has a much higher clamping voltage for suppressing surges than competitors from the big names in consumer UPSes. This model also offers AVR (automatic voltage regulation), which can keep voltage closer to what your equipment expects by adding or cutting voltage as necessary. The result is much better protection for your devices at a competitive price. The only negatives I have on this product are the name (that's MY problem; whoever thought computers named after fruit would be great?) and that the orientation of most of the outlets is a little tight for plugging in multiple wall warts. Adapters like my phone's are too horizontal and foul two of the outlets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good It was an easy set up out of the box. I like the key hole openings on the back that allow wall mounting in either horizontal or vertical orientation. I haven't had any power outages yet so I can't speak to that attribute but it seems to be a well made product. It would be nice if the cd that came with it for the management software was Mac compatible. The cd is Windows only.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lowest price for 'AVR' battery B/U CP685AVR AVR UPS by CyberPowerFor Home or small office, small area, not too much equipment. The *ARV provides steady cleaner power. *AVR may solve several issues. One I had/Example:If you are at the 'end of the line' (the last house receiving power at the end of a street) you get weaker and more inconsistent electrical power. The *AVR will assist you with constant flow compared to--without it my computer would shut down. Also the 'smoother' power will put less ware on your equipment. This unit will only last a short while as far as back up battery support, but the AVR does not usually come on such a small size/low cost unit. *automatic voltage regulation (AVR) monitors incoming AC power and maintains a safe voltage level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Unit Lasted 7 Years The first unit I purchase was a CyberPower 550VA, and it lasted 7 years! Once I bought the first 550VA, I bought a second one for my wife's computer and it is still working. I hook up my computer, 2 monitors, speakers, deskjet printer, a 27 watt light, and my charging cable for my cell phone to these units without having problem. Note: read the instruction on what you can't hook up to these UPS's! This CP685AVR has 8 outlets which utilizes 4 outlets for battery/surge protection, and another 4 outlets for surge protection. This unit has an availability of 390 watts. Currently I have 150 watts running through the battery backup, and have 15 minutes of battery backup time. This unit comes with a 3 year warranty. It has heavy duty construction as did my 550VA unit. The battery can be replaced if you should encounter a problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit bulky but so far works well I purchased this unit to serve as a surge protector and UPS for my cable modem and Apple TimeCapsule. It was a bit bulky, but I mounted it to the wall near the components with a couple of drywall screws. I have unplugged it to test the battery function and while it makes a bit of a hum while working from the battery, neither device restarted during the switch. So far I am very happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again. I haven't had any issues with this product. I have another one of these surge protectors. So far I haven't had a power failure since I bought this unit. In the the past I have liked this product.
