The Stedi-Stock Black with Quick Release from Stedi-Stock is a lightweight handheld support that provides a convenient way to balance your camera. It's designed to rest against your shoulder/chest area while a cone-shaped handle provides a point of stability in front.

The handle attaches into one of three holes on the front of the Stedi-Stock, whichever is most comfortable for you in a particular shooting situation. The handle features a 1/4"-20 screw on its top end, and when it inserts into one of the holes from the bottom, its screw protrudes from the top and provides a mounting point for your camera. Screwing on the camera secures both the handle and camera in place. When the camera is not being used, an included knob can be screwed on from the top instead to secure the handle.

Also included is a quick-release component that allows you to mount the Stedi-Stock on tripods and monopods. This quick-release is also cone-shaped, and it has a 1/4"-20 threaded hole on the bottom. Attach it on a tripod or other support gear via the threaded hole and then just sit the Stedi-Stock right on top. The Stedi-Stock attaches using its handle. The cone-shaped handle slides right on top of the cone-shaped quick-release.

A quick-release shoulder strap is also supplied. The Stedi-Stock is made of glass-reinforced polypropylene and supports up to 10 lb cameras.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I have no idea what anyone would use this for... This came along for free when I bought a Vanguard spotting scope. It's sad to think a dinosaur died and turned into oil that was wasted making this out of plastic. I gave it two stars because 1 star might make people think it was poorly constructed, when in fact it just seems like something that is made okay, but is of little use; something that B&H would give away for free just to get them out of the warehouse. I'm torn between throwing it away in a recycle bin, or keeping it in case it might ever come in handy for something, but God only knows what. Maybe putting under a chair with a short leg.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stedi-Stock was Disappointing I received this device as a bonus when I purchased a spotting scope. I thought it might be nice to use, if not with the spotting scope, but for checking out rifle scopes. However, when it arrived I was very disappointed. I mounted the spotting scope and the stock is so short it is all but unusable. The eyepiece on the scope was almost under my chin instead of out in front of my face and inline with my eye. It probably needs to be at least 8 inches longer to be useful. I tried it with a rifle scope and the problem was almost as bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freedom and Mobility with Redfield 20X60X80 Scope The stock came as an free add on with my Redfield 20-60x80 spotting scope. Based on other reviews, I thought this was going to be a throw away. Instead, I have been very pleasantly surprised that after some practice locating objects in field of sight, that i have been able to use it from 20x to 40x to locate and identify birds because of the stability created by the stock in combination with the neck strap of the scope. By attaching the scope in the furthest hole from the shoulder rest, it fits me perfectly. I thought I was going to be tied to a tripod, instead the stock has made given me freedom and mobility for mid-long range spotting. The widgeons that were unidentifiable using my 10x50 binoculars a month ago, were clear at 20x80. By zooming in to 30-40x80, while a little shaky, I could rule out the presence of any Eurasian Widgeons. However, I cannot imagine how the stock would possibly work for the Redfield 20-60x60 with the straight eyesight. To line the scope up with my eye the stock would sit above my shoulder.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not comfortable with all scopes I found that this Stedi-Stock was easier to use on my old spotting scope which did not have the angled viewing lens. You could hold the scope up more like a rifle. Using it with my new angled lens Redfield Rampage, I just could not seem to get a comfortable set. That may be because I am 6'5" with long arms.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't see the point Came free with Vortex spotting scope. No instructions on how to fit it to the scope and tripod. Can't actually see the point of it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great after and an edit: Bolt too short The bolt was too short on the handle to thread into the spotting scope. After a new bolt, works great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes When used with a bipod walking /shooting stick, this works great.
