Ruggard Outrigger 65 Reviews

Great price point and functionality.

I was reluctant to replace a Manfrotto camera bag that opened up on a seam from 15 plus years of use. When I saw the price on this bag, I couldn't resist. When it arrived, I like it so well, I ordered the smaller version for my drone.

Roomy and strong

Backpack is well made. Lots of space for equipment, and the ability to move things around.

A solid reasonably sized backp

Large backpack. I ordered it for a travel but ended taking some larger one. Seems solid but still has to be tested in real life use.

Great follow up to Would be great - but .....

I have to say I was blown away by Ruggard's wonderful customer service. After I posted my original review, I was contacted by the manufacturer and they sent me a brand new backpack that week. Wow... that's amazing customer service! I'll have a chance to put the replacement backpack to the test - 'on the road' - in a few weeks! :-) Thank you Ruggard!

Bought For Travelling and Wasn't Disappointed!

While I have a couple attach bags for my camera gear, I needed something more traditional and wearable for a family vacation where lugging at least one body and lens with a variety of potentially-needed accessories was required and this fit the bill. Not too expensive but still great quality. I ended up traveling with this bag to Disney and Universal for a week with family with my Canon R5, Canon EF 24-105 f/4 lens (Left attached while in-bag), one 430 EX II Speedlite, 5 sets of AA batteries, lens hood, Gary Fong diffuser w/cap, and 6 LP-E6N Batteries. I also crammed in one portable HDD, a traditional card reader, CFExpress card reader + box, several USB cables, lens wipes, business cards, and there was plenty of room to spare in the main compartments though the accessory portions were a little tight. This bag will *not* fit a 70-200 f2.8 lens depth-wise - you'll have to have that attached to the camera with probably both center velcro compartments loosened. My 24-105 only needed me to fold in the first compartment - but the 24-105 can also fit on its own front to back in a compartment perfectly. Padding seems sufficient - about 1/4 of foam and liner for the camera portion with a slightly sturdier bottom. The bottom portion had to be bent a little bit after travel since the bag is about 10 deep. If filled, it definitely does not fit under an airplane (Delta, Economy Class) seat but it *does* partly tuck under which is sufficient for travel. Likewise in a vehicle it might not always be able to sit between your legs with legroom but I made it work during the trip. Being a thin-bodied person, the shoulder blade strap fit snuggly after some adjustment and the body waist strap was able to be moved sufficiently to fit a thin waist (28 / 72cm). The bag with the camera in it definitely wants to pull backward a little but with even just the normal vertical thick bag straps let alone connecting the horizontal snap connectors, it never felt flimsy, loose, or at-risk of falling off. Zipper pulls are thicker rubber and handled movement and opening easily. Overall not the smallest bag but exceptional for value and for traveling traditionally with camera gear if you don't want to lug some other bag style or case around! I'll have to see if it holds up long term but so far very impressed! I did not test carrying any laptop or tablet in this bag though it claims up to 15 size I believe.

Would be great - but bottom ripped after 1st week!

This backpack is ok - (I wish I could give a great review) - but the BOTTOM RIPPED a few days into my first use of the backpack while on an international photography trip. One additional drawback is the measurement (10) is one inch over the airlines' carryon limit of 9 If these two things could be corrected it would be a 5 star backpack in my view.

Another great Ruggard product

I bought it to replace my old Canon backpack. It is slightly larger which I wanted, and cost less than a replacement Canon. Like all the features.

My Nikon Z9 with 500PF and 1.4x TC fits comfortably in it

I have been very happy with Ruggard products. The only reason for upgrading was the larger size of my Z9 and lens.
