This red Mount Adapter from Metabones is a manual adapter that allows you to use Leica M lenses on cameras with a Micro Four Thirds mount. It is designed to allow you to reach infinity focus while maintaining the correct registration distance for good optical quality. Both the front and back mount are made of brass and plated with chromium, helping ensure a proper fit and smooth operation. Finally, the inside of the adapter features a black matte color to reduce internal reflections and minimize optical problems.

    Metabones MB_LM-M43-RM1 reviews

Leica M Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Mount Adapter (Red) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very worthwhile Mount Leica M lenses on micro 4/3 digital cameras, e.g. Panasonic or Olympus. The construction of the Metabones adapter is what one wants. The lens fit is snug and solid. The dimensions are correct, so that a lens focused at infinity is essentially at its infinity stop. This can matter for lenses with floating elements, whose position is set by the lenses' focusing mount. With the Metabones adapter, there is a small amount of extra travel, of the order of 0.02 mm, beyond infinity to deal with accumulated tolerances. Less expensive adapters not uncommonly have slop in the fit of the lens in the adapter, which can be disconcerting when focusing. They may also be substantially thinner than needed, meaning that the lens needs to be extended more than intended, presumably to avoid high precision machining. A sample by Fotodiox is about 0.1 mm undersize, which is quite a bit in terms of focusing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended Based on the two years old review below, I bought the Metabones LM-M43 adapter -- horrible: lens barely fit (too snug), and camera wouldn't mount at all. Mfg must have deteriorated since prior review. Returned it to B&H (great service). Picked up the FotodioX LM-M43 adapter -- excellent! (We also have the FotodioX Nik-M43 adapter, which we like, too.)
