Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ..... But ........ We wanted to synch two tv's in neighborng rooms to the same channel w/o signal delays which caused audo echoing. The echo problem is a known issue with Directv Genie systems. When I found this device I was surprised that Directv didn't include the technology in their Genie systems, but they didn't. Sooooo, for a couple hundred $ we had the priblem solved..... Almost. Shortly after installation we were ecstatic with the successful results...... Until the IOGear device Hung. After several days of experimentation and hoping and chatting with IOGear tech support we finally gave up because the RF signal interference between Genie and the IOGear device could not be solved. IIIIFFFFFFF, the RF interference can be solved, I would purchase the replacement device. Until then I have resorted to a hard-wire cable and a tv signal input switch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor support under warranty The IOGEAR GWHDMS52 worked great for 3-4 months, then started giving blank screens every time I changed channels. With a change of source, it often went blank and required a hard reboot. When I called support, they said that they didn't support connecting the transmitter between an AV receiver and a TV or projector. Huh??? So rather than using my high end components to switch sources, I would need to connect each source to the transmitter directly, then pass it through to the receiver - meaning I would be changing sources with a separate remote through this flimsy piece of junk. I've gone back to a hard wired solution - bulletproof images and sound. Clearly the only problem was the transmitter. By the way, the transmitter and receiver in my room have direct line of sight 10' from each other. Stuck the Iogear in the closet (where bad electronics go before recycling).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well if clear line of site The setup was straight forward and the unit basically worked out of the box. Biggest problem is it needs almost line of site to maintain it's wireless connection. You can not put the receiver behind the TV. I had mine positioned such that it had to go thru one studded wall in a 25 distance. It had problems maintaining the signal connection. Did do a neat trick - used the TV USB port to power the receiver, turned out great, turn on the TV the unit powers up - no need of rower supply
