    Sony CMT-SBT100 reviews

CMT-SBT100 Micro Music System with Bluetooth & NFC is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Sound for Small Space My purpose was to get a system that allowed me to replicate in my apartment the same ease of listening to sound generated by my iPhone via my car's bluetooth sound system. This system gets the job done. If I'm watching Netflix with my computer connected via Bluetooth, there is a 1+ second lag. That's disconcerting when the sound and image is not in sync. I was also frustrated that the wires connecting the speakers with the unit were only about 3-4 feet long, which doesn't allow for much distance between the speakers. When I have the time, I'll look at the pre-fab connectors on the wire ends, and see if I can rewire the connectors with my own, longer wires. For playing music or podcasts from my iPhone or Macbook, however, this system rocks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly right After trying a few other Sony bluetooth radios, I landed on the CMT-SBT100. Can't say enough about it. Small, just the right functionality, sounds great, looks great. Price is right. Good radio reception, easy to adjust tone and function. In my research, it seemed to be only one of a few that had straight-up bluetooth connectivity: no muss, no fuss. Looking for a small great-sounding stereo? Def. try it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little system I have a large family with kids from 18 to 3 years of age. The blue tooth is great! With my iPad or iPhone I can play whatever music I want to hear on the spot. The kids also can watch movies on the iPad and play the sound through the speakers to hear things clearly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Sound System Good sound system for that price range. Something like this could be easily more expensive. Bluetooth works great, very basic EQ options. Only thing that bothers me is the time it takes to load a CD...veeery slow! Still very happy with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Micro but Mighty I bought this product mainly using to run audio from my TV but I soon found out I got a whole more. I can listen to the radio and play CD's but I also paired my iPhone 6 to play my own music. Plus, the powerful sound fills the whole room. Thank you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Bookshelf Stereo Sony Bluetooth Bookshelf Stereo unit CMT SBT-100 This is to replace my 18 year old bookshelf stereo that stopped working. The Sony is a modern stripped down design. The speaker covers can be removed for a more Audiophile look. It has some design quirks that I am not too happy about but they are relatively minor: I prefer to have the time show on the screen instead of the music information when in FM function but the time display cannot be made sticky. It goes back to music info after about 5 seconds. When in CD function to have the screen show the track or CD countdown instead of count up has to be reset each time a different CD is played. I'd prefer to have it display the Countdown all the time Volume is controlled by a highly polished round knob on the right side of the device. As the knob has no marks or indication to show the volume and there is no indication of the face of the unit, you cannot tell where the volume is set. I left the volume up a bit and was a bit shaken when that same high volume setting was used the next time I turned the system on. Actually if you are alert, the screen tells you the volume setting for about two seconds before the sound starts so you can turn the level down if you are quick. The tone controls for Bass and Treble do not seem to make much of a difference, haven't tried the EQ but the overall sound quality is good. If you want to connect your own speakers, know that speakers are connected with proprietary Sony speaker connectors. FM stations can be added to the 20 available presets but there is no way to delete a preset once it is saved except by resetting the entire device to original factory settings. Also on a search in Preset mode, the search goes to everyone of the 20 presets even if they were never used or saved. So if you have 5 preset stations, to save having the search go thru all 20, search in one direction until you get to your 5th preset, then search back in the other direction. Stereo unit has a nice selection of functions: FM radio, CD player, USB input, Aux input, and Bluetooth. The Bluetooth is only input. Can play music from another Bluetooth device through the Sony stereo but cannot have the stereo unit connect to Bluetooth earphones as an example. You can get this capability by purchasing and then inserting a Bluetooth transmitter in the Headphone Out jack. The included User Guide is a bit awkward to read as it is not on separate pages. Also gives no detail about some remote buttons such as Options or Clear. Have to press the Remote buttons to see what they do. A bit if confusion when restarting the unit in emergency. Instructions say to look for “Reset” on the screen but the screen says “Initiate” Despite these minor quibbles, the Sony Stereo is a good looking, nice performing bookshelf unit. I like it and recommend it for those who want a modest size, modest sounding stereo system with Bluetooth capability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sound - versatile unit Pros Plenty volume for any room in the house Decent bass response without the bass boost Easy Bluetooth configuration Cons Long boot up time at start Max number of MP3s in one folder only 250 although it can handle 3000 folders Does not remember shuffle and folder settings when powered off

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bluetooth is Good....USB not so good... The only disappointment I have with this unit is that it doesn't work with USB devices other than USB thumb drives. My Zune does not have Bluetooth and the Stereo will not work it via USB or other music devices. It does work fine with USB Thumb drives. Go figure.
