Definitely a Step-up Ring
So, I have an old Helios lens and I bought this to match up with the filters from my first lens kit, as well as a circular polarizer I got from a third party. I'm pretty sure that this is a feature, but once screwed in, this ring doesn't fit securely in the filter ring, but kind of wiggles forward and back. It doesn't ever fall out and it still requires you to fiddle with it to remove it, so it works within reason. When screwing it in, there's a lot of gritty sounds when the metal contacts another piece of metal, so that might be problematic. Mainly, it's cheap and light. Construction is sturdy, but the operation is a little funky to me. If you're on a budget, I'm sure this will serve your purposes, but I assume there are better step-up rings.

Great price and quality
I am very pleased with the price of this ring. I have only had it for a short time, but the quality seems fine. It fit my camera and my filter perfectly.
