Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much vignetting I wanted to use this ring on a Nikon 18-200 mm, to save money from buying 72mm filters. The end results is that I still ended up purchasing theses size filters anyway, as this ring creates too much vignetting while using my polarizer. Although I had read about it, I thought that it would not be a big deal, as I create often vignetting with my own pictures. What I forgot to realize however, is that there is a big difference between the vignetting I create, and the one I am forced to work with from this ring! I will not bother with such gimming in the future, and instead, will suck it up and buy filters with the right size instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from get what u pay for Mis-threaded on 2nd use. Should have bought the name brand? Dont want to use on expensive lenses...may damage filter threads. Super light weight-cheap feeling. It also noted on the box that this was a digital step up ring. I got a chuckle out of that. It was by far the most inexpensive step up ring available in this size. My fault for being a cheapskate? ....possibly....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Do its job ok but can be better I purchase this with a 77mm B+W MRC circular polarizer. I was thinking that a cheap stepping ring could sufficiently hold up my kit lens until I got a 2.8 zoom that has native 77mm filter thread. However compare to the <3$ (include ship) ones online, the surface finish of this adapter uses paint instead of powder coat or cheap anodizing process. This post risk of easily binding to both the host lens and the filter, as those paint compress/bent and fall off easily. It also make the surface sticker than regular powder/anodize version of this. I would suggest B&H switch to other cheap stepping rings that are both cheaper and have better surface finish. For those who interesting in this, if what you receive is Bower brand then be careful about the binding effect of the ring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what it is supposed to. This step up ring allows you to purchase 1 filter for the largest lense you have, and use it on multiple other lenses. Just as a technique note, when using a step up ring on any type of filter that requires you to adjust it by turning it, always turn it clockwise on the lens. If you have any luck like mine, you will be screwing it off as you are adjusting for the perfect shot at an overlook that will undoubtedly allow for gravity to do its part to help you order another filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adapter for the smart shopper Great adapter and allows me to use 1 set of filters for all my lenses. Especially useful if you shoot with prime lenses.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job The good is that this is light in weight Be careful threading it to your lens and not cross the thread. also it has a tendency to stick to the lens as i use this step-up ring on a polarizing filter; some ridges would sure help get a better grip in unscrewing it from a lens or filter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage The threads are poorly cut and I don't have any confidence in using it. The threads I'm trying to tie it into are Canon (72mm) and B+W (77mm) so neither of them are likely to be to blame. This step-up ring only goes to prove that you will always get what you pay for...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Does what it should, metal construction, good threads & original Nikon Lens Cap will still fit when filter not fitted to ring. I only buy filters for my biggest diameter lens and use these step up rings to fit these filters to all my smaller lenses.
