Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive alternative I bought this step-down ring for my Canon PowerShot S3is camera. It allows me to re-use my Raynos .48x Wide-Angle adapter lens. I expected a plastic solution and was pleasantly surprised to find this is a solid metal part. The construction would easily handle the weight of the wide-angle adapter. The plastic lens hood adapter of the S3is has a tendancy to grab any filter I screw into it. This adapter is no exception. What this adapter could use is a knurled edge to simplify removal from my camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It worked great to adapt a 2nd lens. Presented idea by e-mail to your very helpful rep., then after response, ordered adapter ring to add 52mm 1.5 telephoto lens to 58 mm 300mm zoom lens. It worked great with auto focus zoom lens. working well add-on lens and gave more power. Also recently purchased Bower SFD35C digital flash attachment for Canon Digital SLR and have been pleased with its use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A money saver! I had an older 52mm Hoya R72 Infrared filter I bought back in 1983, and I wanted to use with my brand new Olypus E-420, but it was too small for the Olympus 58mm lens. This adapter was a good find in B&H's abundant inventory of camera accessories. The adapter is quality made, with a black finish. It threaded right onto the camera, and the filter threaded right into the adapter. This opened up a whole new world of Infrared photography for me, by allowing me to use an old filter on a new camera.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Idea but....... I purchased two step down rings in an attempt to use filters that I had from another camera. I went from a 58mm to a 52mm. They fit my new Canon T1i well, but you could see the edge of the lens filter ring when the lens was zoomed all the way out. If you can live with this, it's a great way to save $$ by not having to purchase new filters. I did eventually purchase the correct size filters for my camera, and choose not to use the step down rings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this adapter ring! When I bought my new Canon Rebel T2i, I didn't buy a kit, so I could save some money. I had a lot of the extras already from years ago, and this little ring saved me lots more money by making it possible to use all of my other filters I had collected over the years. Everything I had was too small for the lens on the Canon, so I am very grateful that this adapter ring was available. Thanks, Canon! I'm a happy Snapper! :O)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 58mm end is too tightly threaded I bought this for use with the Olympus 75 / 1.8 portrait prime. There was no vignetting on that lens, which is great, but it was very difficult to unscrew the ring after use. I suspect it may have damaged the plastic thread on the lens also. It could be the fault of the lens rather than the ring, but I wouldn't chance it. The 52mm end is fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I use this to fit the Ranox DCR-371 to my to the Canon EF-S 18-55mm lens that came with my Canon EOS XSi. It's very well made. I would recommend it as an essential accessory to any lens with a 58mm filter thread used in combination with any 52mm filter or add-on lens.
