question

I am debating between buying Matthews Maxi Kit Steel Stand (9 pounds) with Davis & Sanford W3 or W4DX (7-9 pounds) and the standalone Impact Steel Roller with Low Base and Braking Wheels (13 pounds). Are the wheels for the Impact Steel Roller at least comparable to the W3? Thanks for any feedback.
Asked by: Felix F.
While the wheels are similar between the Impact Steel Roller and the Davis and Sanford W3/W4DX, the latter would only be for use with a video tripod for cameras. If the intention was to use a steel stand like the Matthews Maxi Kit Steel Stand, you may want to consider the Matthews Baby Jr. Steel Wheeled Stand B&H # MALSBJDR, since it would offer a similar height to the Maxi Kit Steel Stand but with a wheeled base. question

I'm looking for a stand that'll fit into my lighting case. (maximum 36 in length). Under the specs for this stand I see it says 3.25'' (40 ) for closed length, but under the packaging info it says that this stand is delivered in a 36 box... That doesn't make sense to me. What's the actual closed length of this stand? Will it fit into my lighting case which is 36 long?
Asked by: Matthew
The folded length from the manufacturer states it is approximately 36 inches. If your case can only fit a maximum of 36 inches the stand could be too large.

question

It doesn't have a full sized baby stud (short clearance at the bottom of the stud). Is there an adapter I can use to convert it to full size so I can mount an arm properly?
Asked by: Ron D.
If you are using a Matthews grip head you can flip the grip head. You should know that that stand is not design to use a arm with it.

question

does it come in black?
Asked by: Michael
There is an aluminum version which is black. However, it is lighter weight and not equal in load capacity. The aluminum version supports less weight than the steel version.

question

Is this going to rust if it gets wet or is it fairly weather resistant?
Asked by: Camreon B.
It's the same as a chrome stand they will rust if you leave them out long enough, the key with any stand is wipe in down after it's been out in moist weather.
