Designed for PAL TV and HDTV systems in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and South America, the red Panasonic HC-V10 Entry HD Camcorder is capable of shooting 1280 x 720/50p high-definition video using the MP4 format. It's also capable of shooting 0.9 megapixel digital still JPEG images while you simultaneously record video. You can record your footage directly to the camcorder's SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot, which can support up to 64GB memory cards. The V10 features a convenient 2.7" LCD display monitor with control features for recording and playback. It also features a mini HDMI output for playing back footage in HD on your compatible HDTV.

The V10 has a high sensitivity MOS image sensor, progressive recording ability at 50 frames per second (fps) and support for iFrame recording at 960 x 540p resolution (25 fps). The camcorder also has a lengthy list of shot-enhancing features. This list includes Power Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.) with Active Mode, 63x Optical Zoom, 70x Enhanced Zoom and a 31.6 mm wide-angle Panasonic lens. It's also equipped with auto white balance, as well as iA (Intelligent Auto). When you're done shooting and ready to edit, the V10 comes with the HD Writer HE 1.0 (Windows only) software for editing, archiving and sharing your footage. It offers help for uploading to social media sites like YouTube and Facebook. Plus, when you're ready, the mini-HDMI port provides an uncompressed, HD video and audio link to your HDTV. You can even burn your footage to DVD or Blu-ray by purchasing the proper DVD or Blu-ray Disc writer.

Main Features

Enhanced Optical 70x Zoom
The compact, easy-to-carry camcorder features Enhanced Optical 70x Zoom function that uses the effective area of the sensor to further extend their zooming power at the wide-angle setting. The V10's zoom with HD image quality allows you to capture beautiful images of sweeping landscapes and pull in distant subjects for truly dynamic close-ups
Power O.I.S. with Active Mode
Power O.I.S. with Active Mode lets you get beautiful images with minimal blurring even while you're moving, shooting and holding the camcorder in your hands. Plus, you get images with minimal blurring even when shooting with an unstable posture, such as bending over or kneeling down
1280 x 720 HD Recording
The V10 offers high definition recording and 70x Enhanced Zoom in a compact body. HD video can be recorded in the MP4 format, which offers broad compatibility and high compression that results in small files that are easy to share. The camera also includes the option to record in the iFrame format, which is designed to speed up video editing. With iFrame, the video in your camera is the same format you'll edit, so it's fast to import and edit with compatible video editing applications
High-Quality 31.6 mm Wide-Angle Panasonic Lens
The 31.6 mm wide-angle setting fits more people and more of the background into the frame than conventional models. This is especially handy when you want to take a group photo in a small room. It fits your subjects in even when you shoot from up close, and makes it possible to pick up even small sounds with the mic
Simultaneous 0.9 Megapixel Still Picture Recording
The V10 can capture 0.9 megapixel still images while simultaneously shooting video. Plus, when playing back the videos you shot, you can cut out 0.9 megapixel still images of any scene you want
iA (Intelligent Auto)
This powerful function senses the shooting conditions and automatically makes the settings and activates functions that will deliver optimal results. iA does the bothersome settings for you and makes it easy to capture beautiful, well-focused images with little effort on your part
Quick Start (0.8 Seconds)
To use the Quick Start mode, simply flip open the LCD and you're ready to shoot in just 0.8 seconds. When Eco-Mode is also used, the power turns off whenever the camcorder has not been operated for five minutes. This reduces wasted power consumption and enables a longer battery life
MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Format Compatibility
MPEG-4 files are widely used because they combine video and sound in the same file. As a result, the files can be quickly and easily saved onto a PC and then uploaded onto blogs or social networking sites to share with friends and family
Ideal for Mac & PC Users
The V10 lets you record videos in the iFrame format. With iFrame, the video in your camera is the same format you'll edit, so it's fast to import and fast to edit with the compatible video editing software. iFrame is based on standards, so it works with a number of applications, including iMovie
Transferring, Editing, Uploading & Sharing
After shooting in iFrame, transfer data quickly to your computer via USB 2.0. Then, go straight to editing with either Panasonic's Windows editing software or iMovie for Mac (sold separately). After editing and archiving, upload your home movies and share on YouTube and Facebook. Plus, you can enjoy your footage on any portable mobile device with network access
World Time (Easy Time Setting)
Handy for travelers, this function makes it easy to set the camcorder time when you cross time zones and again when you return home. Simply select your destination from the displayed map and the camcorder is automatically set for that time zone. The time for two different places can be set - such as home and destination - and you can switch between the times by simply pressing a button
Scene Mode
Automatically selects the most suitable shutter speed and aperture for the shooting location and situation. Choose from scene modes like Sports, Portrait, Low Light (motion image only), Spot Light, Snow, Beach, Sunset, Fireworks, Scenery, Night Scenery and Night Portrait (still image only)
Color Night Rec/Color Night View
Color Night Rec and Color Night View deliver images with color, even in dim lighting
Pre-Rec Function
This smart function records three seconds of images even before you actually begin shooting. The images are held temporarily in the camcorder's internal memory, before recording begins
AGS (Auto Ground-Directional Standby)
The O.I.S. linear motor system can detect when the camera is in an unusual shooting position - such as when you've inadvertently left it on in recording mode. In these cases, the camera automatically stops recording, saving both battery power and media storage space
HDMI Interface
You can quickly connect your HD camcorder to an HDTV using the HDMI interface. It allows you to use a single cable to playback your videos in high-definition
Connect your HD camcorder to a VIERA or compatible Blu-ray Disc player via an HDMI mini cable and you can control both units in synchronized operation with a single remote control. This kind of simple, easy operation makes it enjoyable to view your recordings

PAL Recording Camcorder
The V10 camcorder is designed for use outside of North America. It's made for countries that support the PAL color encoding system. Phase Alternating Line or PAL recording is used in several regions around the world - including: North Africa, East Africa, Western Europe, Central Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, South America (Brazil/Argentina), Great Britain, Australia and Oceania (South Pacific Islands). PAL camcorders usually record using 25p, 50i or 50p frames per second (fps), while NTSC camcorders usually record using 60p/60i/30p fps. North America supports NTSC recording, which means this PAL camcorder is not compatible with TVs and HDTVs in the United States and Canada
