Convergent Design SSD Media Overview

This is a proprietary 2.5" 512GB Server-Grade SSD from Convergent Design, made specifically for the Odyssey 7, 7Q, and 7Q+ monitors/recorders. It's designed to maintain the read/write speeds required by the Odyssey throughout its lifespan. It also features a power protection circuit that in the event of a power loss will close out the current file to prevent corruption of the file and remaining data.

This SSD uses a SATA III interface for offloading files to a computer. A SATA adapter is not included, but any off-the-shelf adapter or USB 3.0 SSD adapter will work.

Each Convergent Design Premium SSD is individually tested by Convergent Design for full compatibility with the Odysseys. Test results proved failures to be nearly non-existent. Prior to distribution, all units are burned in and checked for errors.

question

Hi, I want to ask that can we use Samsung SSD EVO 850 500GB to record RAW or HFS RAW in Sony FS700? If we can use that, what is the differences between the EVO and the Pro? What is the limitation of the EVO SSD? I know the qualified SSD that Convergent Design recommend are all the Samsung Pro SSD and Samsung EVO 850 1TB, but can we use the other storage option for the EVO series? Thank you.

Hello! I also consider this option for Odyssey 7Q+. Did you make a purchase? All OK?

question

So it mentions for the C500 60 fps for 25 minutes. Would you get a longer reordering time on a C100 Mkll on 60fps? Also how long does it take to important data from one of these to a laptop with a 4.0 Ghz processor?
Asked by: Aiden
question 1, if it's outputting 1080p@60fps then the bit rate and record times will be the same or close. Only the c500 does CanonRAW.Question 2, the connector CD gives you is USB3 so processing power doesn't matter. Drive Speed is what counts. 1TB of Data to a SSD or RAID using drag n drop is approximately 50minutes. I use ShotputPro MD5 checksum to protect my data so it takes about 65 minutes.
