Whether you're shooting with small HDSLR cameras or larger camcorders, the SR-1500 provides the support and versatility to fit your needs. Built to work with 15mm support rods, each component of the SR-1500 rig can be attached and positioned independently of each other, letting you create a solution that is right for you. Choose to use the components with the included 22" 15mm rods or with any existing 15mm rod setup you have. You can also attach any standard 15mm rod accessory mount to add articulating arms, external monitors, batteries, recorders, and other accessories to your rig.

To mount your camera, attach it to the rod clamp via the 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 threaded screws and then slide it onto the 15mm rods. The handgrips feature a foam rubber design for added comfort and can be attached to the handlebar or directly to the 15mm rods. The handlebar's off-set design allows for natural hand placement, and it can be flipped to for left or right shouldered configurations. For mounting the rig to a tripod or tripod plate, 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes are available on the bottom of the shoulder pad.

Was going to buy the shorter Small Rig should support but saw that this one wasn't much more expensive at the time and was longer. Glad I went with the longer one!

Much need!!!

This is an answer when you cannot use a tripod

I shoot video and at times am in a situation when a tripod is useless. This shoulder rig should help, although I have not had a chance to try it out yet. It is very well made, and a little heavy, but will support my camera when needed.

Not a Complete Solution

I bought this to use for stabilizing my shot with a Sony NX5 while shooting sports. I can use a monopod or tripod for most jobs but need more range for something like football action. In the past, I used a full size shoulder mounted camera for those kind of shoots. With the smaller cams, stabilization is definitely needed. It is well made and light. The hand grips and mount are adjustable. It is fine for shooting while using the LCD screen. If you can shoot exclusively using the LCD, this rig works just fine. However, for most cameras, you can't easily shoot while looking in the viewfinder. With my eyes not as good as they used to be, I can better focus using the viewfinder. I was too close to the LCD to see it clearly. To be a complete solution, this unit needs a second set of rails that allows for the camera on one set and the shoulder pad on the other. I actually made it a double rail system by using some additional rails and some DIY engineering. This allowed me to use the viewfinder to shoot very stable. I have full range of motion and can shoot super steady even while walking.

Video stability and mobility

I have only mounted the Sony Z150 on this rig once. From my short time using this shoulder support rig, it provides the mobility I was looking for and more stability when trying to move from a wide angle to a telephoto shot. The handles also provide stability during the adjustment process.

Love This Rig!

I love this rig! Shoulder mount shooting is some of my favorite, as I do a lot of run & gun event shooting and this works super well. I have a Panasonic GH4, so it keeps this rig super light on my shoulder. I usually have the camera, a monitor with a separate arm attached, and sometimes an on-camera light on this. I'm short, but his rig gives me plenty of room to see my monitor so I don't have to crank my neck to adjust it. Nice and light even with all my accessories!

Run and gun, this works.

This rig is ideal for when a tripod won't work. IE in a crowd, or when time doesn't allow you to setup a tripod. Really great for the run and gun situations.

The shoulder grip

I had to return the first one I ordered. One of the t-bar lock downs was not working correctly. The replacement one is ok.

question

Do I need extra clamps if I want to operate a 5D with Zoom & Sennheiser wireless receiver? Potentially a Rode mic too?
Asked by: Anonymous
I would suggest for you any of the numerous cages that are available for the Canon 5D. This one is by Varavon, a company that has shown they put a lot of value in their products. See the images on the B&H web page. One shows the cage with added accessories. Varavon ARMOR II Standard Cage for Canon EOS 5D Mark III B&H # VAAM5D3

question

What type of follow focus system would work with this?
Asked by: Anonymous
This shoulder mount includes 15mm rods, and the majority of follow focus systems mount to 15mm rods. Any follow focus that is based off of the 15mm rod standard can be used with this shoulder mount. question

Is this compatible with a Canon 5d Mark III?
Asked by: Anonymous
I would suggest a different type of rig since this one will not allow you to see the camera's rear screen for operating. I prefer one where the rig is offset and allows the camera to be directly in front of you. See the following suggestions. Cavision Shoulder Pad System with Single Handgrip B&H # CARSA1580SSP. Ivation Rig System for DSLR or Video Camera (Blue) B&H # IVRL02SETBL (Note: Special Order. This one is new so no reviews yet.) ikan HDSLR Camera Shoulder Rig B&H # IKELEDCFLY.
