    ASUS ME173X Reviews

16GB MeMO Pad HD 7 Tablet (Blue) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 85.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from SOSO software The only need I have for this pad is to connect my dslr nikon and view photos on a larger screen without shelling out big bucks. I just updated the software and DSLRdashboard is not running anymore ( it was before). Nikon's software disconnects regularly and having tried 2 OTG cables I cannot connect the camera to the pad with a usb cable. Then there is little information on the Android software and not much control over it. The speed is good but the whole software sucks. What I'd like to see is when you connect a camera a dialog opens and and you're ready to view, shoot or whatever, but there you have to push so many buttons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very happy! After a year with a kindle fire I decided to try a new nexus 7hd when it came out this August. machine but one problem after another..flickering,shutting down on me,refusing to open things, and charging problems. Finally it froze completely for no reason so I returned it and got this Asus memopad 7hd for a lot less money. After several weeks I am delighted with its ease of use, intuitive and excellent response. No,it's not as fast as the nexus..but has a great screen, plenty of memorycard), and works like a charm. I do a lot of research and artwork, some games, lots of web stuff. No problems...highly recommend so far!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy it I bought this tablet because of its high resolution LCD and price. However, it turns out this is not a mature product. I can't image Asus ship this product in such state. After receiving this tablet from B&H, I started installing some common apps. Within one hour, I got Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped. No matter what I did, the warning always popped up, even after I did system update. I called B&H for return. I even didn't charge this tablet. B&H return service is very good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Affordable Android Tablet This is the second MeMO Pad HD 7 I've bought for my parents and in-laws. We use it to stay in touch via Skype. Initially, we've tried to set up computers / laptops for our parents, but soon discovered that the technological barrier was too high. Once configured, tablets can be a good choice since updates are automated and the only difficulty is to get them onto a wireless network. I will have to admit that an iPad Mini would likely be even easier to use and set up, but that would have set us back an additional $250 per device. For myself, I would probably spend the extra cash, but for an elderly family member who mainly uses Skype / GMail, this device is as good as it gets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tablet for Nikon WMU Shooting All usual tablet software and functionality are included and work flawlessly. It's my dedicated tablet for use with the Nikon WMU. As such, it downloads and applies the WMU app. with no stalls or issues, but be advised that the WMU offers differing features with differing cameras! This fault is on Nikon, not Asus. For example, with the WMU, the P7800 shoots in Target Finding autofocus only and will not allow specific area focus. That's pretty wretched, as moving background tree branches suck the focus away from a closer bird perch... target-schmarget, Nikon! But the tablet works like a dream...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The top tablet out there right now! The MeMO Pad HD 7 is IMHO the best tablet your hard-earned money can buy at the moment. The screen resolution is fantastic, great graphics, pretty good cameras front & back, fine audio, lots & lots of apps of all kinds, easy to handle, good looks, sturdy feel, and MicroSD/SDHC Card Expansion, which is a major plus not available in other big-name tablets. All that at an industry-shaking, attractive price. And B&H gets it home super fast. Awesome little gadget!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great performance at a great price At present this tablet leads all its competitors, many of which are much more expensive, in the combination of internal memory, microSD expansion slot and build quality. It's more than fast enough for web browsing, email, indeed anything I've asked of it, although admittedly I've not played high performance games. The only pity with the design is that it only supports up to 32GB cards. There was an issue immediately after starting to use it in that it spontaneously unmounted the SD card & then refused to recognise it (or indeed any other card). Updating the software appears to have fixed this.
