MeFOTO DayTrip Tripod Kit (Blue)
Key Features
  • Load Capacity: 8.8 lb
  • Max Height: 24"
  • Min Height: 9.4"
  • Folded Length: 9.4"
The blue MeFOTO DayTrip Tripod Kit features a mini tripod with a quick release ball head and a unique design that allows it to reverse-fold down to 9.4". At only 1.8 lb this is the tripod for photographers who claim that they don't want to lug around a tripod. The DayTrip doesn't sacrifice features for small size either. The Q00 Ball Head has a single large ergonomic knob for all pan and tilt adjustments as does the mini Arca-type quick release with a bubble level and included 1/4"-20 camera plate. The ball head and spider are finished in blue and echoed by accents on the legs' twist locks.

question

Can I change the default ball head into Manfrotto 486RC2 or 496RC2 ball head?
Asked by: Nestor
The micro head is removable and threads onto a 3/8 pin, so yes any 3/8 female head will work. It's a solid take everywhere tripod.

question

Can the center column be flipped so that the ball head is hanging below?
Asked by: T M.
You can rotate the legs 180 deg, in fact that is how it stores. The legs don't lock in this position so you are relying on the friction of the joint to hold it in place. The ball connection is at about 6-7 off the table at this point. I think if you actually removed the screws and rotated each leg you could get them to lock but it is not something you would want to keep doing often and would not change the height of the ball off the table.

question

Will the manfrotto 323 RC2 quick release system work with this tripod?
Asked by: Daniel M.
The MeFOTO DayTrip Tripod Kit has a ball head that uses the Arca-Type quick release system. Unfortunately, this would not be interchangeable with the RC2 system quick release plates. That being said, if you do have a tripod with an RC2 system ball head, and dont want to switch plates, you could attach the Kirk SQRC-3157 Quick-Release Clamp to the RC2 ball head, in order to switch that ball head to an Arca-type system.
