FotodioX HBV-SNYE-PRO Overview

The Adapter for Hasselblad V Lens to Sony NEX Mount Camera from FotodioX allows a Hasselblad V lens to attach to a Sony NEX camera body, including full frame NEX. Adapting a larger format lens to a smaller format sensor provides optical as well as practical advantages. The smaller image field helps minimize the effects of lens distortion and aberration by using the center or "sweet spot" of the larger lens' image circle, thus providing edge-to-edge sharpness.

Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or other electronic functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. Manual or aperture priority mode must be used when this adapter is attached. Its all-metal design and polished surface provide smooth mounting and long lasting performance.

On Hasselblad lenses the iris can be manually opened, therefore the shutter does not have to remain open.

Works great. Mounts easily to camera and lenses, and built-in tripod socket is very helpful when using 250mm and 350mm lenses. Image quality is exceptional, due to using just the central portion of the lens image area.

I watched the webcast on the Sony A7/r today. I have some old hasselblad glass for 500 (with shutters) and 200 series cameras. We're any of these V lenses? Will this adapter work with the sony A7R? Thanks.

You can use the FotodioX Adapter for Hasselblad V Lens to Sony NEX Camera to mount your lenses from both the 500 and 200 cameras onto the a7/R. The 500, 200, and 2000 cameras are all considered part of Hasselblads V system, and share the same mount and register.

What is a V series lens. I have old C series lenses with shutters, and one lens for the 200 series without a shutter. Are any of these V lenses? Adapter for Hasselblad V Lens to Sony NEX Mount Camera by FotodioX. Also, is this the same adaptor for the new e series sony?

The 500, 200, and 2000 cameras are all considered part of Hasselblads V system, and share the same physical mount and register. So you could use both your C series lenses with shutters, and your shutterless F or FE lenses with this adapter. An advantage of the F and FE lenses will be since they lack a shutter you will not need to open the shutter blades to photograph like you will with the C series lenses.This adapter will be compatible with every Sony E mount camera, including the new Sony full frame mirrorless cameras (a7/a7R).

I bought this adapter. It came without any instructions about how to mount the Hasselblad lenses. The mounting of Hasselblad lenses to Hasselblad cameras must be done in a certain way. They must be cocked before removing them and so forth, or a jam can occur. So what is the order of mounting and how does it behave with the Sony camera? I do not wish to jam the lens and or camera and some directions for using this are really needed. In the absence of instructions, I may need to return it.Thank you.

A Hasselblad lens (with a leaf shutter) cannot be safely removed or reattached without being cocked . In this state, the leaf shutter is open for focusing or in this case photographing on a mirrorless camera. While the adapter does not require the shutter being cocked, you will need it in this state to shoot with and remount back onto a Hasselblad body without risking jamming. Use of this adapter will not trip the shutter on the Hasselblad lens as you are using the shutter in-camera to make an exposure.

This adapter will not work with Distagon lenses, which are Hasselblad C mount. This adapter is designed for use with Hasselblad V lenses.

I have the 50 ,80 and 150 FE lenses, I understand that they fit, I have to focus, does the camera auto set the lens aperture in Aperture priority mode or do I stop the lens down before shooting?

I stop the lens down in shutter priority...it works for me with the Sony A6000.

Hi there. Yes it is. Just be careful as the release switch is in the same spot that you rest your hand to adjust focus. I actually dropped my lens off a roof and onto a pebbles because I released it as I was adjusting my focus. Luckily only minor damage to the casing of the lens but could have been much worse. Its very affective, though, so recommend it.
