FotodioX PL-MFT-PRO overview

  • 1Description

The Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter Arri PL to MFT allows you to use your Arri PL mounted lenses to fit on a camera body with a MFT (Micro Four Thirds) mount, allowing you to use your existing PL mount lenses with newer cameras that feature the MFT mount. This is a lens mount adapter designed to attach to the lens itself, it is not meant to permanently adapt the mount of the camera. The adapter mounts to the lens and is removable, so you can use one adapter on many different PL mounted lenses.

The adapter maintains the correct flange focal distance, and this means that you don't have to worry about the your lenses focus shifting due to the adapter. Infinity is maintained. Featuring Brass construction with a stainless steel finish, this adapter is a strong, durable unit. A built-in tripod support foot features a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole so you can attach a tripod or monopod to the adapter, limiting the amount of stress you put on the camera's mount. There is no electronic control of the lens through the adapter, so you need to use a lens that has manual focus and iris capabilities. However, the adapter allows TTL (Through-the-lens) metering, and when using a lens with the adapter, the camera body should be set to either manual exposure or aperture priority mode.

Maintains correct flange depth between lens and image plane.
Infinity remains unchanged, so the lens does not need to be re-collimated or shimmed.
Brass construction protects lens mount, stainless steel finish makes the adapter corrosion and wear resistant.

    FotodioX PL-MFT-PRO reviews

Pro Lens Mount Adapter Arri PL to MFT is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid build on lost-cost alternative Wanted the cheapest way to try out my PL-mount film lenses on a Pocket Cinema Camera. Was pleasantly surprised at the finish and fit. I'm sure you still get what you pay for and the more-expensive adapters will last longer; but am happy with the purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blackmagic Pocket Camera FAIL I got this adapter from BH to use it with my Black Magic Pocket Camera, and it seems to me that the manufacturer never tested it with the camera. The Camera's mount is MFT, but the adapter clicked in with a lot of force (I regret applying force) and now it does not come off. If you have a Black Magic Pocket camera, buy the wooden camera one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stem comes lose, VERY TIGHT on MFT side I bought this to use for a short film that wrapped today. It was actually cheaper to buy this from the states (I live in Australia), than it was to rent an MFT to PL adapter here. Granted, they are better brands the ones for rent here.We used Zeiss super16 Super Speed lens on a black magic pocket cinema camera, optically it was fine, worked well, not vignetting or no issues on the PL side - great. However, on the MFT side and Like the other user dp jatala, I thought it wouldn't come off on the MFT side, but you have to give it a bit of a tug after you unlock it and twise it from the body and it will come off.It is VERY VERY VERY tight on the MFT side, it squeaks when putting it on, I initially thought it was scraping the metal off somewhere, but it doesn't appear to be. Still, I don't feel comfortable putting this on and off a lot just in case.by far the most annoying this about it is that the support stem constantly comes lose all the time as it's only held in by two little screws. SO basically I would have to tighten them 10 times a day. I would imagine can be fixed quite easily - and permanently - by using metal adhesive, but I didn't have the time.Did not test infinity focus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little jiggle, but it works It wiggles a little in the mount, but it works well. The mount is sturdy enough to support the weight of the lenses and my camera (gh4). It's worth the buy, because it's cheap comparatively.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well build well build, but has weak 1/4-20 support. if you want to use heavy lenses or expensive lenses you need to rebuild it, i suggest to weld it with MIG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great and is cheap. I use this on a panasonic DMC G7 m 4/3 camera with some PL prime lenses. Mounts on both ends are sturdy and go on/come off easy.
