FotodioX FD-FXRF-PRO overview

  • 1Description

The FotodioX Canon FD Pro Lens Adapter with Tripod Mount for Fujifilm X-Mount Cameras is a high quality adapter that allows you to mount a Canon FD mount lens to a Fujifilm X-mount camera body. It features a brass construction with a stainless steel finish as well as the ability to focus to infinity. This works with a leaf spring system for a secure attachment of the lens to the adapter. Additionally, this adapter features a tripod mount for security while using larger or longer lenses.

Although the lens will fit physically, automatic lens control and functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. You can utilize aperture priority mode in combination with stop-down metering for automatic exposure control on your camera.

    FotodioX FD-FXRF-PRO reviews

Canon FD Pro Lens Adapter with Tripod Mount for Fujifilm X-Mount Cameras is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked Fine until It Fell Apart I was quite happy with this adapter this first few times I used it. However, while on a trip to Africa, all three screws that attach to the mounting plate on the camera side of the adapter vibrated loose and fell out, making it completely unusable. In retrospect, I wish I had had with me both the correct size screw driver and super glue. I question whether this adapter will stay together when using big lenses such as I was using (a 300mm and a 400mm), so pre-emptively gluing those screws in might be one's best bet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well This adapter seems to do the job it was designed to do. I've mounted my Canon Fd lenses to my X e2 and they work in aperture priority or manual mode. I'm not crazy about the blue ring as it really sticks out (visually). The tripod mount may come in handy at some point but, for now, I've just removed it. Sometimes the view in the viewfinder gets darker as I stop down (which it shouldn't with the way I have my settings). The calculated shutter speed for each aperture looks correct though. I haven't had a chance give a really critical look at final results. The adapter itself seems to work fine. One tip to clarify the use of this adapter: Twist the blue ring all the way to install to mount your lens to the adapter. Once mounted, twist the blue ring all the way to the other direction and mount the lens + adapter to your camera. Then, leave the blue ring alone and control your aperture with the aperture ring on the lens. Twist the blue ring back to the install position to remove the lens from the adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality adapter Did a test session with a 135mm and it worked great. I own anther adapter from another brand for eos and wasn't satisfied with the results. Now I am. Specially for the price/quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and Reliable. I have been using this on my Fujifilm X-T10, further extending the use of my Canon FD prime lenses. I didn't see it mentioned in the specs or in the reviews, (I may just not have seen it) but the blue ring is an aperture lock. This gives you manual control of the lens's aperture ring. The adapter has been solid with very little travel when attached to the camera. I have removed the tripod mount from the adapter, and use the thread on the bottom of my camera instead. The thread on the on the adapter's mount is off center of the lens. This isn't really an issue. Be careful when attaching this to you camera as you don't want to damage the data pins on the inner rim of the camera. Overall, I haven't had any issues so far and would recommend this to anyone wanting to use their manual FD lenses with their Fuji X-mount cameras.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works As Advertised I use this adapter on a FD telephoto lens, and having the tripod mount is helpful. Be careful mounting adapters to your camera body, as you do not want to cause any damaging to the terminals connecting the Fuji XF lenses to the camera body. I had a problem with my 18-55 lens, but a firmware update seems to have fixed the issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doubled the kit Fixed some Canon FD lenses on my XT1. Works awesome. Fixed my 135mm 2.5 FD mount to it for a super clean 202mm. Aside from losing the AF which I expected id def recommend this product to those like myself that cant afford new lenses all the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use It works like it should be. The only thing I don't like is the tripod mount. You have to take off plate every times you want to switch back to Fuji lens or other types of lens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK Good adapter, but screw that holds the tripod mount broke on first removal attempt in order to use with battery grip on fuji XT2.
