FotodioX EOS-EOSM-PRO-AUTO Overview

The Canon EF / EF-S Mount Lens to Canon EF-M Mount Camera Pro Adapter from FotodioX is an all-metal adapter that allows you to use your Canon EOS DSLR lenses with Canon EOS M mirrorless bodies. The adapter features electronic components for full communication between the body and most lenses, enabling autofocus and giving you control of the aperture on your camera.

Made entirely of metal, the adapter is designed to allow focusing at infinity or beyond regardless of the lens being used. Chrome-plated brass mounts help ensure a snug fit with no wiggling or gap between components. A red dot on top of the barrel mimics the one on the camera body and helps you mount the lens correctly.

Converts my EF and EFS lenses for use with my Canon M50. Nice solid fit, allows camera to communicate with the lens, and will be quite useful until I can afford to buy some M mount lenses.

It does carry the electronic functions of an EF lens to the M6 MK II body, but the fit is loose. How well it will hold up on in the field conditions is yet to be determined.

I was excited to get this so I could use prime lenses from my older cameras. It worked great for a brief period, then stopped. I've had it for less than 6 months.

The Canon EOS-Mount Lens to Canon EOS M-Mount Camera adapter would be for adapting Canon EF/EF-S lenses onto Canons M Mirrorless cameras. This adapter would not let you use EF-S lenses on a full frame camera. Im not aware of an adapter on the market that would allow you to mount EF-S lenses on a full frame camera such as the 5D. Even if you were to find one, the image circle of an EF-S lens will not cover the entire sensor.

Is this adaptor full compatible with a Canon M6 Mark II using a Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC Lens for Canon EF? I recently bought a Viltrox EF-EOS M2 0.71x Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF-Mount Lens to Canon EF-M-Mount Camera and is giving me issues with autofocus and shows an ugly vignette in viewfinder and photos as well.

I called Fotodiox and unfortunately, this adapter only works with the Canon M50 in MANUAL mode. It will not communicate any electronic auto functions to the lens. They have not developed a lens for the M series that will do that.
