FotodioX PKAF-NIKF-PRO-DCLK Overview

  • 1Description

This Pro Lens Adapter from Fotodiox enables the use of your Pentax K lenses on Nikon F mount SLR and DSLR cameras. It features a durable brass construction with stainless steel finish, a leaf spring ensures a secure connection between the lens and adapter, and its design also maintains infinity focus through the use of a 1.4x multi-coated focus correction lens. Additionally, benefitting working with lenses that lack an aperture ring, this adapter also features a built-in iris control to adjust the amount of light let into the camera.

This manual adapter does not maintain automatic lens control between the camera and lens; aperture priority or manual shooting modes should be used, as well as stop-down metering for exposure control.

    FotodioX PKAF-NIKF-PRO-DCLK Reviews

Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Pentax K Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Father's Legacy...Adapting I found an old Prime 500mm lens of my dad's and needed an adaptor to be able to use it on a trip asap. B&H had it to me 3 days before departure and I was able to shoot several sporting events that week. The adapter worked flawlessly and the shots were decent (more on my end than the lens and adapter obviously). The greatest thing about this adapter is that it allowed me to shoot an event that my father had shot twenty years earlier with the same lens. Thanks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from FotodioX Adapters update old lenses I bought two adapters, one for my old M42 thread Pentax lens and a K-Mount for two other lens I used with an ME Super. I plan to use these with my D5100 and my D600. The positive side is the M42 adapter works great with two Takumar lenses, but the K-Mount adapter only works with an older 70-200 zoom lens. A 28mm wide-angle won't accept the adapter and I'm not sure where the hang-up is. Since these are older lenses obviously the metering system doesn't work on the D5100, but it's digital and I can bracket til I find the correct exposure. The D600 has a menu file for non-CPU lenses and that works quite well. Now, my old lenses have a new life. Picture quality, by the way, seems good. I haven't magnified to the pixel level to see aberrations, but overall quality seems acceptable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Lens adapter Glad I ordered this. it had good ratings. I can now use my old Pentax mount 80mm-200mm Zoom lens that I had used for years on my 35mm SLR. It only works on My Nikon D3200 in Manual mode, but It comes in handy for some special shots. Works good with very little distortion. Would recommend and the price is reasonable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations...But.... First off, I actually purchased this item from the FotodioX site, because my go to company, BH, did not have it stock. I hope you will accept this review anyway. I should clarify that the main reason I bought this was for purely back-up reasons. If my Pentax SLR died or if my Nikon lenses died, I now have a means to keep shooting. Some reviews elsewhere talk about a bad fit. I have found this only to be the case with my older, more stripped Pentax lenses. The better codition ones fit snug as bug. Image Quality - about what you would expect. Yes, there is some reduction in IQ and considering the nature of adapters like this, my 28-50mm lens becomes a 35-57mm. TURNS OUT my Pentax lenses are actually better than my stock Nikon lenses. Even with this adapter, the lens above is sharper than my Nikon 18-55, so there is that, albeit with a longer focal range. Plus, I was using DIY macro filters and stock macro filters. Now that I can use my Pentax macro lenses and extension tubes, my macro IQ is way better, plus I can use my Pentax gear that essentially makes my camera into a microscope, something impossible beforehand. NO LIGHT METERING. It is mostly guess work, but that is exactly the way it was with the Pentax SLR, so I can't complain. NEVER THE LESS, there is custom firmware for modern Nikon cameras, like my D5100, that allows you to see the changes in exposure when changing shutter speed and ISO. Due to the nature of Nikon lenses and the camera, aperture changes can not be seen unles exiting and entering the Live View. Since you can only change aperture manually with this product, in the Live View on the D5100, you can now see changes in aperture, allowing for total exposure preview.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect product.... The FotodioX lens adapter was exactly what I was looking for to adapt the nine lenses previously used with my two Pentax SLRs and now wanted to use with my new Nikon digital camera. I now have a wide variety of distances in which to capture images. Thanks to the sales rep at B&H I've accomplished what I set out to do: shoot more award-winning photos.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great way to extend the life of your len Had 3 legacy SLR Pentax K Mount lenses that were collecting dust. The Fotodiox adapter allowed me to take my Pentax 50mm Prime, 135mm prime, and 70-210 zoom and use them on my Nikon D5000 in manual mode. The adapter fits both the lenses and the camera quite well, and the pictures come out rather decent in my tests so far. Inexpensive way to bring new life to otherwise obsolete lenses!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems very well built Not having much recent experience with old school lenses, I have inherited a few Pentax lenses. I was really interested in the fixed 500mm lense, and thought I'd try ou this adapter. Works like a charm. can now use all of the lenses in the kit, just have to learn what I need to know to make them work well. My son will be here to look for his adapter, when he buys his camera.

    question

will this work with my nikon D3100?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, the FotodioX Adapter for Pentax K Lens to Nikon F-Mount Camera would allow you to use Pentax K mount lenses on the Nikon F-mount on the Nikon D3100 DSLR camera. Do note that as there is no electronic communication between the camera and lens, you would have to use the camera in Manual mode to trigger the camera (Full Automatic, Scene modes, and P/S/A modes would not work with the above adapter).

    question

I have a Pentax ME SLR (older model) with several lenses. Will this product allow me to use these Pentax lenses with my new Nikon D3200 digital SLR camera?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Since the Pentax ME used Pentax K mount lenses, you would still be able to use this Fotodiox adapter with your Nikon D3200.

    question

I have a Pentax bellow M that suitable for K Series cameras which accept K mount lenses. Will this adapter connect the bellow and a Nikon camera i.e.. D600?. If you know another way to make it works, it will be very much appreciated.Thank you

The adapter will connect any F mount camera to the K mount bellows. Whether you will have TTL metering depends upon the camera model.

    question

Does anybody know if you can use the auto focus 645 pentax lens to be electronically connected via an adapter to a nikon D800 SLR? I will be grateful for any help. Thanks, John Dufton
    Asked by: john d.
There is no electronic connectivity between Pentax AF lenses and a Nikon digital body with this adapter. Manual focus and manual exposure control. If you chose this route, you're going old-school so be prepared to miss a few shots unless you're stopped down for a wider DOF.

    question

would the medium format pentax 6x7 lenses fit this adapter and work on nikon digital (d610)and 35mm(nikon f100) film bodies?
    Asked by: Sonia M.
There is, I believe, another Fotodiox adapter specifically for Pentax 6X7 lenses to Nikon F-mount. Pentax 6X7 lenses are much larger.

    question

How does the Iris control on the adapter work?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Aperture/iris is controlled by a ring on the adapter as well as the lens its self
