Brunton F-REACTOR-OR Overview

The orange Hydrogen Reactor Portable Power Pack from Brunton produces up to 2 Amps of portable power and never needs charging. The self-contained unit combines hydrogen from rechargeable cells with oxygen from the atmosphere to generate power. When a cell is discharged, replace it with a full cell and keep charging.

The solid-state design means there is no natural discharge over time, so it is perfect for emergency preparedness. Since it generates power through a chemical process with naturally occurring elements, there are no harmful chemicals or byproducts. The Hydrogen Reactor is an environmentally-friendly way to power tablets, cell phones, GPS units or most small electronics. At 5.3" long and weighing 8.5oz with a hydrogen core, the compact and lightweight design provides power without taking up a lot of space. Additional hydrogen cores and a H2O Hydrolizer core recharger are available.

question

Do you plug in using a traditional plug outlet or is it only providing USB plug in? Is there an adapter to be able to use a non-USB device?
Asked by: Anonymous
The output is 5 volts and very stable. The output jack is a standard USB and there are many adapter cables available with connectors for about every device on the market.

question

OK, you must purchase the Hydrolizer which uses mains power to charge the hydrocore cell, how is all this not just the same as using rechargable batteries or power packs (put the efficiencies and mAh to one side in answering this please)?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, your basic inference behind the Hydrocore cells working like rechargeable batteries is correct. There would be 3 elements needed to use the hydrogen system. First, you will need a (1) Hydrogen Reactor to connect your appliance to. This Reactor is what processes the (2)Hydrogen Core and converts it to usable energy. Once the Hydrogen Core is depleted in can be recycled or refilled using the (3) Hydrolyser. This a primer on the workings of the Hydrogen system.

question

Can I have this in my carry-on going thru the TSA?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, I think so. The hydrocore wrapper has a bit of text stating you can take 2 cores and I think the reactor as carry on.

question

how much time is once cycle of the hydrogen core? and is it possible to get one that has a power amp of 4 or 6?
Asked by: Anonymous
How long the battery lasts will depend on what you are charging. The battery is about 9000mah so a fully charged hydrogen core should last about 6-7 charges of a smart phone. The hydrogen core is good for roughly 1000 charge cycles. So far they only offer this with 2 amps.

question

What is the process to recharge a Hydrogen core?
Asked by: Anonymous
The unit will continually charge itself or maintain a charge so it is always ready. Once the unit has reach the end of its useful life span, you'd simply remove the replenishable hydrogen core and replace it with a fresh one (they are about the size of two C-cell sized batteries, and are good for roughly 1000 charge cycles. Additional cells cost about $15.00.
