This Pro Lens Adapter from Fotodiox enables the use of your Canon FD lenses on Canon EF-mount DSLR cameras. It features a durable brass construction with stainless steel finish and a leaf spring ensures a secure connection between the lens and adapter. Additionally, through the use of a 1.4x multi-coated focus correction lens, this adapter is designed to maintain infinity focus. This correction lens can also be removed to render the adapter as an extension tube for macro shooting.

This adapter also incorporates a Dandelion Chip, which enables the use of EOS cameras' focus confirmation feature for easier focusing in difficult lighting conditions.

This manual adapter does not maintain automatic lens control between the camera and lens; aperture priority or manual shooting modes should be used, as well as stop-down metering for exposure control.
The Dandelion Chip enables use of EOS DSLRs' focus confirmation feature, however it is not recommended for use with EOS film SLR cameras.

Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Canon FD Lens to Canon EF-Mount Camera with Dandelion Focus Confirmation Chip is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but forget about the Dandelion. So far I have really enjoyed this adapter. For my birthday this year my father passed down his Canon AE-1 to me, this included all of his old FD glass. The adapter works very well as an adapter, but save yourself a few dollars and go for the regular adapter without the Dandelion. It's not really a guarantee it will work with all lenses. Build quality is much better than I expected for this cheaply priced adapter. The picture quality is not affected as far as I can see. Overall I am very happy with the product, it works great as an adapter, the dandelion is just something I'm not finding a use for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice product, but... I am happy with the purchase of the product, but can you successfully adapt a AE system camera lens to a modern Canon DSLR? Yes and no. You can, but only in some circumstances is it wise or useful to do so. This can work with studio setups or where you subject is stationary and it is a lot of guess work to get the exposure to work out. Where it failed for me is with event photography and exposure was hit and miss inside a building and a lot of photographs were lost because of this. One is fighting with different lighting sources and camera shake which strikes me as more pronounced because of the loss in exposure from the adapter and I feel DSLR's are more sensitive to this. My recommendation is to purchase at least a kit lens for the camera, but this may come in handy to still enjoy the qualities of old Canon lenses in some situations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product OK This adapter work OK, however it doesn't meet my expectation of what I think it should achieve. It does mount easily to the camera and lens mounting is easy. However, the Dandelion focus chip doesn't work as well as I was expecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extraordinary Lens adapter I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the adapter really did work with my old Canon lens. I had my doubts but the store employee was true to his word.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New life for old lens This adapter allows me to use on my new DSLR camera an old high quality lens I used on my old film camera. The old lens is a wide angle zoom with good range but most important it has macro. The first attempts resulted in some good pictures of bees on sunflowers. Those pictures alone made the cost of the adapter worth while. I may buy another adapter to use on another old lens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Using the lens Mount adapter FD to EOS The chip connection came to a part in the first use! So, it was silly to get with a chip connection, if you going to buy, just buy without one it's not solid. Nevertheless; It works OK.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Never again ! 1st bad item in 34 years as B&H customer Appealing lens-mount-adapter description. Alas ! -- Mechanically==> it works, but not as smooth as mounting a regular lens etc. -- Aperture setting==> 2 possibilities: 1) using the aperture ring of the camera, 2) or the one on the Lens-Mount-Adapter itself... // Using the f/stop ring of the lens itself is much better, less cumbersome. The F-stop ring of the adapter is too coarse, no indication of f-stop... -- Dandelion chip for easier focusing in low light ==> nearly useless, erratic; I prefer to use an eyepiece lens and focus manually... I could have saved a few bucks buying an adapter without the Dandelion chip. It is allegedly possible to program and calibrate the chip. The instruction manual (a printed sheet of paper) : instructions totally incomprehensible -even by professional photographers. BTW: it can be adjusted to focal length up to 65535 mm -->2'580 inches..., what a lens !!!. Let's forget about programming the chip... -- All in all it works well with my old FD and FL lenses, pictures are good for my needs (my 2 stars), like in plain Manual mode with any other lens, using the f-stop ring on the lens itself !... . -- Microphotography ==> it says that it is possible to unscrew the glass holder and remove the glass (with glass, they mean the lens giving the 1.4 magnification). My main goal for that Lens Mount Adapter was to use it for the Canon microphoto Unit F that I was using with my Canon A-1 on a Leitz Polarizing Microscope (mineralogy, metallurgy). It works, but I have to remove the 1.4x magnification lens. I tried, simply impossible to unscrew the glass holder (the lens holder!) as mentioned in the adapter description. It is screwed much much too tight. I even tried with a multi slip joint plier... impossible to unscrew the lens holder... Very frustrating, waste of money. So, I'm searching on Internet another simple mount-adapter, as simple as possible, without magnifying lens or with one that can be unscrewed easily...
